CRASHLINGS Display...
#1

I know nothing about Crashlings. So I need some help. I have a display full of a bunch of RARE's and super ultra RARE's (or whatever) and all that jazz and I want to sell it... But I don't me what is worth what. Perhaps it would be better to keep Everying together?
Can someone offer some advice? When I try and price it out on Ebay... I don't find enough specifics. Maybe I'm not searching right? Anyone got a good link to a price guide? Or do these figures even count since they are part of a display?
Thanks all,
PF

Are you talking about a store display? I don't know much about crashlings either but I know those store displays are far and few to get ahold of. If you are talking store display I would keep it as it is. It may take longer to sell and cost more to ship but I would think you could get more out of it that way. If it is just little kids collecting these figures that would change my opinion however, as they don't give a crap about store displays. Maybe try it as is first and if that doesnt work break it up!

Yes, it's a store display. I think it's missing one of the figures. I was going to take pictures, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I was thinking I should leave it together. It's interesting, with those ultra rare figs it's my understanding that when you get one normally it comes with a little limited edition thing that tells you 1 out of 500 or whatever.
In the display, it just shows the figures... so I would assume they would be much less desirable with out some sort of "proof" that they were the rares.
I don't know, I've never really followed a toy line that deliberately made some in less quantities (or at least marketed them as such).
I think you are right though Dixie, I should just leave it the way it is.

Are they super-glued to the display?

I'll probably just start a thread of pics for the thing.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Stay tuned!

There are two little figures missing from the left and they all do appeared to be glued.
Are the ones in the middle examples of special edition or super RARE's?
Because when I google or Ebay super rare Crashlings, I don't get much variety and none of them look like this. So I'm kinda flying blind here lol...
If anyone can give me an idea of value - either on the less common or rare figures that are included or perhaps the whole thing it would be very much appreciated. I really don't know much about this line.
Thanks all!!

I tried to get one of these and a display for the Mutant Mania figures. The Toys R Us told me they send them back to the manufacturer and would not let me have/buy them. I am jealous.
Yeah - it's my understanding that they usually do send them back. Or wait until corporate tells them they can scrap them.
I went through the same thing when I tried to get some Monster 500 Displays and they insisted that they have to send everything back.
Any feedback on this thing or the line would be helpful.

My friend's roommate is a manager at a Toys R Us he had brought it home. I offered to buy it for a very fair price.
But, only because maybe I thought some of those Crashlings might be worth something, and I could maybe flip it. That's why I'm trying to get an idea on price/ value. SO I can get an idea where to start. I honestly kinda like the figures... but there's no way I can keep them. It just takes up too much room, and I have very little space in my place.
SO any thoughts ideas on value would be VERY helpful. I rarely just do 99 cent opening bids on items (when on Ebay), I know I know I'm in the minority. But I like to have an idea of what I'm gunning for.

I doubt anyone would pay $10 plus actual shipping (maybe $20). Nothing in there is actually rare. Maybe you could take the figures out and get $15 for the lot (without the added cost and burden of the display), but I doubt that too because the glue on them is hardcore. Even if someone wanted to re-purpose the display, the shipping cost is prohibitive. The shipping cost will outweigh the value of the figures no matter how you slice it. Maybe find a local buyer on CL with $20 or $25 total and no shipping costs involved.

Thanks Steve!
Lol... damn. Oh well. I was thinking I stubbled onto something pretty cool.
I was wondering if the ones marked rates were actually rare because I figured, why would you want to have something rare out like that where someone could swipe the figures (which is what I think happened to one of the figures that is missing in the display).
S&H wouldn't be too bad, if not for the damn plexi glass. That things is HEAVY! Otherwise the different categories of Crashlings all break down into smaller segments. Relatively light weight. If I have to ship the glass through... yeeeesh you are right about that being cost prohibitive. I guess I'll try CL or Ebay eventually.
Thanks again for all the responses and feedback guys. I appreciate it! : )

Why sell it though if you like it, display set with the Crashlings looks pretty sweet to me.

That display itself is pretty neat so that might sell for some $$$ and it sounds pretty rare. Dunno how much you paid though...

Jesse,
Yeah I was thinking it would go for more $... but from sheer uniqueness. However, I know very little about toys and values sometimes and even less about the modern stuff. Steverotters seems to collect a fair amount of more modern stuff so he certainly knows more than I do!
As far as display, it's just a matter of room, and a wife that has very little patience for more stuff. And she has patiently put up with me bringing more and more stuff home from my parents house over the last year. Call it a compromise. I'm not really interested in starting anything new lines of toys (with the exception of the occasional custom from a LRG member). I really did pick it up just to flip.
Anyhow - I'm sure I'll get something on Ebay. Just got to prioritize listing it.
: )

There is supposedly a Series 2 coming out. Maybe with the Halloween stock. Who knows. If you can wait until then, you may find an eager buyer. The thing is, right now, Series 1 is on second-tier clearance at TRU, and I have also seen them appearing at discount stores like Ross and TJ Maxx. A 12 pack is less than $5. My point is, if a Series 2 happens (and returns to full price), and there is no Series 1 around anywhere, someone might go for these once they are scarcer. Also, you might want to experiment with getting the glue off of them. I tried to remove the glue from the single figure glued into the 1-pack gravity feed. No luck, it is some hardcore figure-ruining glue.
Use your source to get the Mutant Mania display. There is some precedence of that one being worth about $100.

This may have just been a random thing, I didn't even think of asking about getting stuff on a regular basis. Like I said before, from what they told me they normally have to send stuff back.
I'll check o the glue factor since on of the figures is kinda floating around int here with the glue on the bottom... I'll take it out and see what I can do.
Thanks for the help Steve!
