My buddy and I were talking about the possible new Ghostbusters movie with Chris Pratt, and how it could lead to toys.  I was like "damn that guy.  He's gonna have another figure based off of him"  which then lead into us trying to figure out what person has the most figures based off of characters they played.

The rules:

1: No voice over work, unless it accompanied by motion capture, so Andy Serkis in King Kong, Planet of Apes, and Lord of Rings would count.

2: only one Figure per character counts. So Arnold Schwarzenegger only has one Terminator figure, I know you can make the argument that he was a different robot in each movie, but I say bull.

So Far this is what we got: for some of these I'm just listing movies because I'm too lazy to look up names.

Arnold Schwarzegger:(6) Terminator, Last Action Hero, Mr Freeze (Batman &Robin), Conan the barbarian, Predator, Commando

Sylvester Stallone: (5) Demolition Man, Rambo, Rocky, Judge Dredd, Expendables

Wesley Snipes (2) Blade, Demolition Man.

Michael Keaton (2) Batman, Beetle Juice

Lon Chaney (3) Hunchback, Phantom, London After Dark

Jeff Goldblum (2) Jurassic Park, Independence Day, (Not sure about adding the fly since the figure I found was based off of an animatronic puppet that he didn't do voice or motion capture work, I will leave that up to consensus.)

Lon Chaney Jr (2) Wolfman, Phantom, (I think there's a Frankensteins Monster based off of him too, but not sure)

Bela Lagugosi (3) Dracula, Ygor, Son of Frankenstien

Boris Karloff (3) Mummy, Frankenstein's Monster,  Dr Jekyll/Hide

Doug Jones (4) Abe Sapian (Hellboy), Silver Surfer(used likeness and motion capture), Pan's Labyrinth, Buffy Vampire Slayer (Gentleman)

Patrick Stewart (2) Prof X, Captain Picard

Ian Mekellen (2) Magento, Gandolf

Bruce Willis (2) Joe colton (Gi Joe 2 movie), Sin City

Ron Pearlman (3) Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy, Vice Roy (Star Trek Nemesis)

Sigorney Weaver (2) Aliens Franchise, Ghostbusters

Hugh Jackman (2) Wolverine, Van Hellsing

Johnny Depp (3) Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Tonto

And I'm drawing a blank on others we discussed.  So I'm open to your guys ideas, thanks.

Johnny Depp.  Easy.

Add up almost every Tim Burton film he has done and there are probably figures of each... with the exception of Ed Wood.  Then Pirates.  Lone Ranger.  Etc... I bet he would out-toy Arnold!

I counted 8 - but if you counted voice overs there would be 3 more.

What a great topic!  This is the exact kind of thing that I think about all the time!

I always consider Warwick Davis because his characters have been portrayed by so many figures as Wicket W. Warrick the ewok, plus a bunch of different characters in the Harry Potter films, plus maybe there is even a figure of Willow or the Leprechaun!

Then I always think of Samuel L. Jackson for Mace Windu, Nick Fury, and others.  I mean, Funko has finally made a Jules figure for Pulp Fiction!  Maybe even his Jurassic Park character has been a figure?  Or Shaft?

You can't forget Marvel Chris #1 -- Chris Evans -- who has figures both as Captain America and Johnny Storm the Human Torch.

Finally, we must mention one of the best actors of our day --  Ryan Reynolds -- he has figs as Deadpool, Green Lantern, and surely that character from Blade Trinity.  Surely!

One pic for actress is Zoe Saldana who trekked into darkness as Uhura and guarded the galaxy as Gamora!

Hulk Hogan, from his various WWF related items to Thunderlips from Rocky.

Kevin Sorbo, Hercules and Kull the Conqueror (I know, right?).

Oh, and don't forget Zoe Saldana was in Avatar, too, which drives her up to 3.

Word up on Zoe in Avatar.  Dopeness.

Michael Keaton at 3 with Birdman.  It may be a promo only figure, but the figure does exist.

I was trying to think of Nick Cage as a figure besides Ghost Rider and Big Daddy from Kick-Ass, but they just haven't made the Leaving Las Vegas figures yet.

Edit: Nick Cage in The Rock (1996) had a figure. So 3 for him.

Hugo Weaving = V (V for Vendetta), Agent Smith (Matrix), Elrond (LOTR), Red Skull (Captain America: The First Avenger)

Plus at least 3 more if you allow voice-work... Megatron from the Transformers films, Rex the Sheepdog from Babe (plush toys plus McDonald's toys), Noah from Happy Feet

Harrison Ford (4) - Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Cowboys and Aliens

Kurt Russell (4) - Escape From New York, Big Trouble in Little China, Death Proof, Stargate

Dwayne Johnson (3-4?) - Gi Joe, Scorpion King, Rocky Maivia, The Rock (different characters, right?)

(there might be a few wrestlers on their own worth mentioning just based on how many gimmicks they've portrayed: Mick Foley, Viscera, etc....)

You should also bump Bruce Willis to 5 - John McClane, Butch Coolidge (Pulp Fiction), Corbin Dallas (Fifth Element)

I remember thinking about this topic -- and Chris Pratt specifically -- back when I realized that the dimwit from Parks and Recreation was going to be the lead in The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy.  The same year.  I realized that he would have Lego figures on the shelves for each character at the exact same time. Cool.  I guess that's when you've made it, LOL.   I wondered if kids putting together their Lego sets would realize this, you know, being representations of the same actor and all. I figured someone would take pictures of Emmet next to Peter Quill or whatever.  I though specifically about Lego.  Harrison Ford has 2 Lego versions. Sam Jackson has 2. Warwick Davis has at least 2.  Zoe has a Lego and a Kre-o.  I just thought it would be funny to photograph them next to their counterparts, or whatever.

Then I often also think about this topic from the actor's POV.  I remember collecting the Iron Man 2 line -- which was pretty expansive and tiresome -- and thinking, does Robert Downey Jr collect these? Does he only buy or receive the ones with his Tony Stark likeness?  Does he not care at all? Does he have tons of Iron Man crap all over his house? Toys that the companies just give him or what? Does he have someone create a grand display?  Does he have a NIP set in a box somewhere?  All of the above?  None of the above?  Who really cares, but I think about these things sometimes.

I mean, with as narcissistic and self-absorbed as we think actors are, surely they have action figures of themselves.  Surely, right?  I figure Sam Jackson has at least one Nick Fury and at least one Mace Windu, right?  These are big roles and it just seems like they would be given to you and you would keep them, whether you "collect" them or "display" them or whatever.

I have to figure someone like Chris Pratt gets excited about his action figures and Lego sets, right?  I mean, he has a 3-year-old son who, pretty soon, is going to be playing with toys of his daddy from the Lego Movie franchise, the Jurassic World franchise, Guardians and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Ghostbusters too.  Geez, that's cool.

Does Arnie have all his action figures? Does Johnny Depp?  Does Bryan Cranston have all those Breaking Bad figures that were oh-so-controversial last year?  Who knows.

Anyway, when I've thought about this I've been inclined to include voice-work too.  Nerdy I guess.

I've read that John Ratzenberger -- who has done voice-work for several Pixar films -- collects (or at least keeps) some toys from those films.

I saw an interview with John DiMaggio -- voice of Bender in Futurama, Jake in Adventure Time, Aquaman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, among others -- and he was surrounded by toys of his characters.  Pretty cool, I thought.

The other reason I am inclined to include voice-work because those characters make vastly more interesting action figures anyway.

Who in the hell bought a Kevin Costner in Waterworld action figure?

Or Harrison Ford in Cowboys and Aliens?  I mean, apparently the movie only warranted this:  a 12-inch $200 Medicom/Sideshow Collectibles figure.

Wait, I think I alluded to that earlier:  Harrison Ford MUST own that figure!

(And he may be the only one!)

Hahaha.

Great topic.

Love you all.

Goodnight.

SR

So this topic popped in my mind the other day, over a year later, and now I wonder what minority or woman has the most figures.  I was kinda shocked that Will smith wasn't top minority, since for a while he was only minority that starred in Block busters, But I think he only has the 3. Men in Black, wild wild west and Independence day.  Samuel Jackson(4)on the other hand has Nick fury, Mace Windu, Pulp Fiction and Django unchained. It's shame there isn't one from Deep Blue Sea, it would have to be a talking figure for sure.

And think Zoe Saldana and Sigorney Weaver are tied with 3. I think Angelina Jolie only has the one from the Tomb raider franchise.

ZS: Avatar, Guardians  of the galaxy, and Star Trek

SW: Avatar, GB, and Alien.

And I think adding the rule of no custom figures should be added.

Hmm, missed this thread last year. It's a good thing the no-VA rule is in effect, otherwise we'd be agonizing over exactly how many hundreds of characters DiMaggio and Frank Welker (SO. MANY. ANIMALS.) have voiced also have toys, then someone would bring up Messick or Mel Blanc and it'd be back to square one.

Went through a couple candidates for the hell of it - Halle Berry could've won out for women if there was just ONE toy of her from The Flintstones! She otherwise makes it a three-way tie with Die Another Day, X-Men and (ugh) Catwoman. Doug Jones might be able to surpass Ahnold, will take looking into his roles, but Yee from Warriors of Virtue (UGH) also got a toy.
