I have been passively collecting these little (most about 1 inch tall) alien vending machine toys for a while now. I recently got a huge score of them on eBay (thanks again for the heads up Marty ;) ) and I thought I would share them with you guys. Enjoy!

Orignal Collection

These are my two favorite figures. They are harder plastic (less rubbery) than most of the others. One has glitter inside. I just love the idea of an alien wearing a space suit - helmet and all
Posted Image

These are my favorite kind. They are the harder plastic ones. Again some have glitter in them.
Posted Image

Most of them are transparent green doing some activity - the pics are deceiving, they are all the same size.

Shiny Ones...ooohhhh

Different Alien Breed

These are larger - 1 1/2 - 2 inches - and are made of a slightly differnet rubber.
Posted Image

These Blockheads fit nicely with my aliens.
Posted Image

And just for good measure...here are some ninjas that can battle the aliens...hey, why not?

Ha, pretty cool. That's a nifty little collection you got there. Probably a fun, little line to collect. Seeing them all grouped together by colors and kinds really looks nice.

these always remind me of pikmin. i had a couple of the ones from that first pic in the square container. if i knew where they ended up they'd be yours. i've lost more penny machine toys than a monkey without hands.

I don't know what it is about seeing things lined up by color and style that makes me compelled to buy them, but it's working.

Nice collection you've got going there. I especially like the metallic ones with the big ears, it's refreshing to see a unique alien design for once.

Those are really sweet. I like the orange "other breed" of alien figure and the paratroopers.

Most likely the aliens are in space suits because they are on Earth and can't handle all the pollution.

Where did you get the ninjas? Were they also from a vending machine?

As far as I know they are also vending toys. I got all of mine from Marty and have never actually seen them in a machine.

I have - the smaller clear ninjas and a previous wave of solid-colored versions were both 25-cent vending machine figures we've gotten from K-Mart. Still have a dozen or more of them, and they're neat to have around, but nothing particularly special to me.

There's a third breed of alien too you know, a cutesy bee-like insect type that holds musical instruments. Seen them? I've encountered them in only one vending machine, but bought tons of them.

Ok so i have to ask...what adventures or 2 minute day dreams scenarios have your little aliens been involved with?

I really like the "different breed" figures although they are all nice to look at. It looks as though your army building...is their an alien showdown on the horizon ?

Its amazing the little things that strike our fancy lol

I wonder what it is exactly that drew you to them?

Divide & conquer works because of attachments people make to push-button issues, individual "leaders," parties, clans, tribes, policies, or agendas, leaving them open to manipulation.

Found a pic I'd already taken of the third variety:

Posted Image

I love how these bee-guys are musically themed, while the pointy-eared goblin guys are a bunch of crooks (they all have guns and/or bags of money. One vending machine labeled them "space burglars!") while the standard aliens are primarily sports themed and only recently started branching out.

It's like a glimpse into the cultural focus of three alien worlds : p

Just found a bunch of them! I'd like to hang on to the only one I have with a microphone and my only saxophone player, but I have an extra gold accordian player and guitarists in silver, gold and metallic blue if you want some : )

So far no adventures other than being sorted...

Oh yeah...major showdown coming :p

I have been thinking about this and I don't know exactly what drew me to them in the first place. I have always loved scifi themed things and these aliens are just super cute. Plus the fact that they are so cheap helps as well. ^_^

I'm a sucker for $0.25-$0.50 capsule toys. My pile of homies proves that!

That is a cool looking set. I'm a little jealous. I've got only one of the little see through green aliens. The military one holding a hand gun. I got him at a TRU machine, and the next time I was back they had replaced them with candy!

How are you going to display them?

Thanks :p

Not sure how I am going to display them yet. Right now they are just sorted into types in a storage container. Some of them don't stand well (or at all) so most likely not on a shelf.

I have several doubles of some of the transparent green ones. I will send you some if you want. Just PM me your address.

Should be able to start painting the next round of Black & White M.U.S.C.L.E.s next week sometime and your guy will be in that mix as well!

Woops forgot.... :p I also have 2 different types of aliens as well, 2 types w/ 4 sculpts for each type. Parachute guys in space suits, and GITD flying saucer aliens. That's why I came to this thread in the first place

The spacesuit wearers are amazingly detailed.

I always wished they would make mini-aliens in another type of "classic" form - here's my crappy little blog entry on Japanese martians:
http://www.bogleech..../scrapmars.html

These jellyfish/octopus type guys are just as iconic in Japan as our "greys," and I've seen many different toys of them...but it'd be cool if they got the mini vending alien treatment.
