Hi,

i just got a second Drool armour. one of the drools i have has got two white painte spider type shapes either side of the chest so its even either side. on my other drool one of the spider like decorations is replaced with a large black nipple so that the infect can be attached on the front of the armour.

has any else come across this, do your snaliend have a nipple or just a plain front?

i so badly wanna take it out of its packaging so i can play with the power shell, i had one as a kid and it was lots of fun, the warning is funny. "do not shoot directly at face. "

Thankyou

oli

Haven't encountered that variation, but then, the only snailiens I've actually seen are the ones I got as a kid.

The warning is funny if only because they knew they'd created a serious weapon of destruction. Kids were hospitalized by those things

I know at least one person who had to go to the ER when one of the little figures was shot down his throat, and another person who shattered a window by loading one of the shells with a piece of gravel. As I recall the toys were quickly banned in some areas.

Yeah, those plunger things they came with were hardcore. I remember them being very hard to set, and when they popped they could hurt.

Yeah, they did seem like tire rubber didn't they? They even had that hard smell.

Galth, can you take a pic of your drools? All the saliens I've ever seen had the nipple on the front.

That's pretty cool! I wonder if they had these variations for all of the figures.

I agree that those launchers are hardcore, Universal Ruler Supreme. Did they think that the cool looking plunger launchers were worthless when something was broken?

I don't know if the Snailiens themselves were banned or not, but this is only because some kids don't know any better not to fire them at certain things, until it's too late and someone gets injured or defeated.

I feel that the sidekicks were a little too big to fit into an Ice Breakers tin command center, anyhow. In fact, I don't think they're small enough to do so. I don't know where the sidekicks I have went off to, but do you want me to sell you the two bigger guys that they came with?

I was about to create a Snailiens thread here but there were already some old ones, so how about a necro-post from 2008? :D

I had a guy approach me a few years ago about purchasing a MOC set he had but the price is too high so I didn't go for it.

These are the pics that he sent me of the entire set of figures MOC. A little blurry but they're good enough for reference.

Also, as previously mentioned in this thread there were two versions of the armor released with the figures: one with the companion-holding peg on the front and one without. Zug also came with two different colors of paint apps on his armor that seems to correlate with the presence or absence of armor peg. It's possible that other figures had different paint applications as well but I've not noticed them yet. My assumption is that the figures were originally released without the peg, but the second wave added the peg to help keep the companions with the figures. Pure speculation but makes more sense than the other way around, since they essentially removed a sculpted armor detail to add the peg.

Here's a closeup of Zug MOC with his alternate armor color (with peg):

I know almost nothing about Snailiens except that the only one I ever owned was that Zug variant. Neat.

I always liked the companions, but trying to collect them always seemed like a drag.
