Yeah Darryl collects various figures, I think hes said he mainly collects series 1 neon yellow, italian gold, something like mexican clear/black etc. I've sent him lots of pictures for the site and so have a few others. Its pretty nice to see almost full sets just to prove they do exist. Especially with the sonrics figures as theres such a range that at times me and a few others have even wondered if all 48 they exist in each colour

Yes thanks to Howard and the other collectors that contributed photographs
to the website! I started making the latest updates, expect more to the
Sonric section soon.

I won't be able to help out with any Series 3 I am afraid. I only own
one sculpt! Blue Abominable Snowman. It's correct I am pretty picky with
which figures I collect but it's nice to see them all together even if
it's only on screen...

Credits are at the bottom of each page for contributors to the website.

it really is nice seeing it back up. Even if im not a major player in the MIMP community. i know a lot of people ask where a lot of the premiums are from, have you ever thought of putting info as a roll over on each premium picture~? i know it would be a lot of work to enter it all. :D

I'm lovin the website being back up too!
That's a good idea about the info Eric, would be really cool if when you move the mouse cursor over the figure icon,
A pop up window appeared with a bit of info like which country they're from, and what premium like take away or cereal premium.
I dunno the amount do work involved to do something like that tho, might not be worth it for the headache.

Update is now done, thanks again to Howard and Ruben for the
Mexican photographs.

I like the idea of roll overs on the photographs. It would
of been nice to even get a glimpse of the back of the figure
with a roll over... I will give it some thought, yes it would
be a lot of work!

Wizard - Don't have any plans to expand the website
to show Generation 2 yet but thank you for the offer.
I will consider your offer in the future if I create
that section. You own the prototypes?

Aikola - Yours are the Argentina mini ones aren't they?
Not sure how to approach the Argentina section as so
little knowledge. I was thinking of just adding the
translucent kind at this stage. Rarebob will hopefully
be providing some photographs soon, along with Federico
(confirmation please)?

I would like if people would provide some more Peru
photographs as people's collections are growing.
Leviathan can you help out here? Be nice to see that
section not look so sparse.

Also I think a few collections photographs wouldn't
go a miss to go on the sections pages. For example
when you click Series 1 there is nothing here. Do you
think it would be nice just to have a large photograph
which shows a range of figures? Like a 'cover' image.

For series 1, either a nice collection pic or just go straight to the Matchbox colors as they are the base for the set.

Another possible idea for Monster Collecting.com - a star rating system linked to each series 1 & 2 model (Matchbox and premium only) to show how rare/hard to come by each model is. This would be useful for new collectors like myself.
For example Neon Green Dragon would be 5 star; Neon Green Hydra would be 1 star. I know this would take some doing but would be very useful.

Trumanshower - Those two pictures would be great, thanks!
pure_daz@hotmail.com

Bigburty - This has been suggested before in some capacity
along with what if I filled some of the boxes to show that
figures exist even if there is no photograph available.

Although I can see the benefit for new collectors I think
some of the information would be miss leading as rarity
is often subjective and depends heavily on experience.
We have had times in the past where there was hardly any
Orange Hydras in circulation then suddenly a whole load
appeared on Ebay (not surprisingly after discussion here).

Plus imagine if a 'seller' saw the information and they were
sitting on a batch of figures 50-100 (example), this would
give them the opportunity to sell them top dollar because we
were foolishly labeling them as rare?!

A couple of years ago you never saw Peru figures on Ebay,
look at it now... Are these 'rare' would you say? Such
information would require constant tweaking. I like the
discussions that go on here and think it's important
collectors remain one step ahead of the people who purely
sell for profit.

Sure Darryl, give it some weeks, I have a bunch coming in the mail. Will take a shoot once I got enough together.

I´ve always liked the simple look of the website so I like the sites as blank as they are now. No text, no info. Maybe a "click the selections below" or some text would be ok for the blank pages tough.

@ Darryl - 3 things

1. Perhaps for the cover of series 1 a picture of 13 mimps in all the colours (4 standard, 4 Neons, 5 premiums)?

2. As for the Argentine section i have no problem sending you the pictures will be nice to see that section up and running - (i'll do my best with the sealed boxset ones) perhaps a picture on that section of sealed figures? - i'd also suggest listing just 5 colours until someone can verify more clearly?(i.e. Green Witch and Green Werewolf side by side) I also think there are plain colours(non translucent) but i have no knowlegde of what exists etc. Though i know from the back of the sealed translucent box set that there are only 20 sculpts(sure you know as you have a sealed set aswell?)

3. Peru section - i have around 8 your missing. My question though is are the new Halloween ones missing as i dont see Black Peru figures or the Neonish Yellow ones?

Best regards and thanks for uploading your website.

Leviathan -
Sounds good! Points taken on board...

Rarebob -
1. Quite like that idea, might experiment.

2. Yeah we will focus on the translucent kind at the moment.
From what I have seen I have a strong belief there is a
Dark Green Translucent and Light Green Translucent along
with differences in some of the Yellow. I think the best
bet is once I have enough material I will create the criteria.
I have 2 of the Card Sets. One is sealed and agree it will
be problematic to get photographs, will try.

3. Be good to have these thanks. I havn't added the Halloween
release yet. Weren't sure how to tackle it (another link or
have them on the far right). Another link might be nice as
they are released in limited sculpts.

Ruben -
Thanks again. Sure that would be amazing if we can achieve
that!

Rarity is often subjective and depends heavily on experience.

As a case in point, M.U.S.C.L.E. sculpt 136 was considered a Class A in magenta. Last year, four of them showed up in auctions over a very brief period. Supply and demand is a different issue, though. Maybe the site could use a star system where one star is supply far exceeds demand, three stars are demand and supply are roughly equal, and five stars are demand far exceeds supply? Of course, those might also change, given the dynamic nature of supply and demand.

I like the discussions that go on here and think it's important collectors remain one step ahead of the people who purely sell for profit.

I agree 100%.

2: If I remember correct than I have already send you comparisson photos of both the Translucent Greens some time ago?
Why the focus on the trans-coloured figures and not also the solid coloured?

3: I feel like these new ones should be added to the Archive with another link.

2. Yes, thank you Thomas. It was Rarebob that was questioning the
difference in Greens. I didn't share that photograph. I also saw
other evidence to confirm this along with the Yellow colour. The
focus on Translucent for the time being is because it is the version
I have the most knowledge about plus examples to source. The solid
colours also come in 'two' different sizes.

3. Seems like a good plan to emphasize there are differences plus
the smaller range of sculpts. Although maybe I give the labeling
an overhaul because at the moment it shows countries. What if instead
it has the companies that distributed the figures inline with Matchbox.
I could always have a description at the bottom of each page stating
which countries they were released.

Hello.
I'm reading that people are talking some more about the Peruvian figures.
I apologize if I do not understand some things,My English is really bad.
Lately some people have contacted me and have exchanged information and possible changes.

Posted Image

1-leave a photo in the figures to me the rarest (from left to right)
as well as collectors Peruvians think (personally I have seen less blue-lucent,that the white figures)

2-some already have noticed but color glazed-orange(http://www.monsterco...com/1-peru.html)
is made of a material harder than those of other figures, this color is considered rare for this reason.
This color was published in 1994, when finished gathering monster in your pocket.
Motta livero a collection of X-Men in the year 1994.este also with various colors
being orange is also the only one made of a material harderand this is also considered rare.
Motta in the year 1995 collection Livera Biker Mice from Mars (blue figure) which is all the same material as the glazed-orange MIMP PERU.

Thank you for your descriptions, very interesting especially
the difference in materials. Also great photograph, as there
is a colour I have overlooked: Burgundy (Red Cap/Spring heeled
Jack). Is the colour of Harpy also rare? I have not seen that
shade yet...

Is it possible to use your photographs to add to Monster
Collecting please?
