I can only speak for myself, but it's because they say, "M.U.S.C.L.E."
 
If those were just fun, new keshi, then I wouldn't care either way. Those figures don't interest me, just like similar original keshi (Mario, Mega Man, etc.) didn't. But if they're going to fly the M.U.S.C.L.E. flag, then try to make it feel like a M.U.S.C.L.E. figure.
 
I can compare these new "M.U.S.C.L.E." figures to the original M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. And they don't compare.

They are the shits.
The lady that did the SF2 MUSCLE is the one sculpting The Worst MUSCLE figs. They should just hire her to do them all, and work in a better material.

When I first heard about a possible M.U.S.C.L.E. relaunch, I was optimistically excited. Now that I have seen the M.U.S.C.L.E. logo just slapped onto anything monochromatic, all it means to me now is more junk clogging up my ebay searches for real M.U.S.C.L.E. products.

I agree. The name M.U.S.C.L.E. was simply used to drum up nostalgia. Not a bad marketing ploy, but pretty transparent. If these figures were released without the M.U.S.C.L.E. name they wouldn't get 1/4 of the attention here or anywhere else. And, like you said, it's annoying when you do a search for M.U.S.C.L.E. and a bunch of these guys pop up in overpriced auctions.

The Worst, which is effin rad!, should be a line of it's own in mini form.  Not with the Muscle logo spoof.
