Hell yes.

I think we should send a few e-mails to Mattel to know that there is a market for this, and show some solid support for it.

I'll draft one tonight, FFS.

I know a lot of you guys despise Twitter, but it is a great way to communicate directly with big orgs like Mattel. Here's the Matty Collector Twitter account that handles WWE stuffs: https://twitter.com/MattyCollector I've already pinged them letting them know I'm interested (and that they should stay blank!).

We definitely need to let them know somehow.I started a poll on another forum to see if people would want them produced. Can I link to it or is that not allowed?

I would want Roddy Piper, Iron Sheik (and please in a combo figure giving the Camel Clutch to a scrub like Corporal Kirchner or Iron Mike Sharpe), Jimmy Snuka, Andre the Giant, Chris Jericho, and Ric Flair (holding up four fingers with one hand and the other hand ready to deliver a chop). Throw in some girls too, like Lita with the thong straps showing.

Lets not forget Junk Yard Dog or George the Animal Steele heck I wouldn't even mind a SGT Slaughter...Classic.

^That's what I'm saying! This opens up so many possibilities and so far the wrestling figure audience doesn't seem to want them because of the wwe rumbler line. So far the nos are higher then the yes'. We need them to hear us lrg fans! I want this line to happen

Looks like a lot of these Wrestling Action Figure collectors would rather they NOT make these toys...that's odd. The love is not shared by all for the flesh colored minis I suppose.

Hm, I cant say Im too surprised (but disappointed for sure). Ill be the first to tell you that mono minis really are a niche formfactor in the toy collecting community. And mono mini lines really are hit or miss: some lines are a "hit" like SLUG ZOMBIES but many more are duds like Ultimate Muscle and FOP. It would be interesting to see someone like Veers do an analysis of why some (mono) mini lines are succesful and some not.

Off the top of my head, I think successful lines are more about the character of the line than the mini fig formfactor. For example, there are many people who love MUSCLE, but don't care for other mono mini lines. So for a mini figure line to be successful, it has to consist of characters (or a genre like zombies) that people like.

There are some people - like myself - that actually prefer the mono mini fig formfactor and character/genre comes second. But for most toy collectos, character/genre comes first.

Having said that, WWE is a huge genre, but perhaps it is already well represented by other, more-preferred toy formfactors and thus the mini fig formfactor isnt "needed." :(

yeah thats pretty crazy, but i guess most hardcore wrestling fans would rather have large expensive figures than LRGs.

On the other hand, adult collectors only make up a portion of the toy buying market. Its hard to argue with the success of lines like Gogos and Squinkies. I could see moms and dads buying these cheap figs for their kids before buying them the expensive articulated figures. Theres a lot of little kids who love WWE. I think theyd create a deep market for mono mini WWE figs.

The wrestling toys folks would rather they NOT make them?
That doesn't make any sense. It's not like WWE MUSCLE figures would preclude Mattel from making the larger, shit-ass wrestling figures.

I sent an email to Mattel, and I may have to blow the dust off of my Twitter account, to make myself heard there.
Those are EXACTLY the kind of minis I've been starving for, and yeah, with the line inheriting the WWE market (Ultimate Muscle didn't get a lot of love, despite having a cartoon to support it; FOP was a bad case of a toyline cold calling it's market) it should do reasonably well. Better than the Micro Aggression line...

That last part made me laugh but I've seen this with GI Joe collectors. They think that any other item Hasbro produces with "GI Joe" on it that isn't 4" figures or vehicles will completely wipe out their precious 4" toyline.

Well, they are standing in the way of us getting rad, new LRGs. Therefore, I move that they all get dead.

You're not kidding! He said some peeps from Mattel have talked for years about maybe bringing a MUSCLE like line back (if I heard that correctly). I think doing it via WWE is brilliant. (Next we need some MMA keshi! Get on that Dana!) Man, if this comes to fruition it will be cray cray!

He mentions people that are still at Mattel who worked on MUSCLE...

Perhaps there is still hope to have a few mysteries about the line answered!?

We need to get in contact with these guys directly.

I can't imagine that a lot of them would be chomping at the bit, to answer fannish questions from a bunch of nostalgistes.
