Toyfair is coming up in less than a week.

What do you guys hope to see there?

I'm hoping that Mattel stops working heel on those WWE MUSCLE figures, and I look forward to seeing what Godzilla stuff those at Bandai have prepared.

LOL I expect for another year we will see some new WWE MUSCLE figures that never get released. This would be what the 3rd year in a row ha ha ha

My wallet has been ready to buy them damnit.

I expect to see a lot more blind box type items hit retail, its seems to be a decent money maker for retail.

As always, I'd just love to see anything in the way of mono mini figures, and as always, I'm not holding my breath.

I look forward to seeing what Godzilla stuff those at Bandai have prepared.

Not from Toy Fair (obviously), but here's a Japanese blog post from a few days ago showing some new Godzilla stuff from Wonder Festival 2014:

New extra sub for MOTU classics!  I'm guessing it's just a sub for the cool new mini figures, but of course everyone thinks its PoP because they teased Madame Razz!  Either way, I'm just hoping to see cool stuff.

I'll absolutely keep an eye out for the Godzilla stuff from Bandai, and begrudgingly the Goji offerings coming from Jakks Pacific and NECA as well. Pacific Rim's Series 4 (kaiju only) may be up for public display. And whatever is available for public display for Transformers will always catch my attention. There's nothing else I can recall that I anticipate seeing there, but Toy Fair might always deliver on some surprise or another.

agreed, though it looks like it might ave some sort of electronic fx if the red/black wires in the front of the pic are any indicator.

The thing about Wonfes you have to keep in mind is that a lot of the cooler pieces you see shown off there, such as that Biollante statue, are not retail items. They're garage kits or low-run production items and as such are so expensive due to low production numbers and covering the cost of the one-day licenses that allow them to have permission to produce merch like Godzilla statues in the first place without getting into any trouble.

The big companies like Good Smile (and recently Bandai) show off stuff too, but not in the same vein as stuff like that.

Hasbro actually surprised me with their offerings this year. Not too shabby! I'm a bit pissed that I saw a Walmart employee stocking the new ML Spider-Man toys and I just walked away, having forgotten Carnage was in there!

So! Godzilla Minimates. That's going to be a thing this year.

siJNz82.jpg

Sorry to those of you who had all the bad BB experiences though. :p

I'm quite impressed at the choice to include Titanosaurus in the boxed set alongside Gigan or fricking ubiquitous Mothra. As for how the figures themselves will turn out... we'll see.

Bandai's Godzilla stuff, being all movie-related, isn't up for public display, and neither was NECA's 2014 figure. Bluefin confirmed a MonsterArts Godzilla 2014 this summer, so that's nice! The only other Godzilla thing we should be able to see at the show is the Godzilla 1994 figure that NECA is also doing, but no pics of that one yet, and there were plenty of pics of Diamond Select's various vinyl Godzilla banks and a Mechagodzilla bottle opener.

Packaging is cool on those, but I can't get into the purposely crappy 80's retro looking toy for $10 plus shipping, especially on recent properties like Firefly. I can see them appealing to people that collect carded figures though. I will get Sam.

I'm vaguely into the Universal Monsters ones and some of the horror/sci-fi ones, not so much stuff like Goonies or Firefly. They're the kind of things where if I got a Frankenstein's monster or a Xenomorph as a gift, that's okay, but only just. I'd never spend my own money on them.

Oh yeah, the Crashlings toyline by Wicked Cool Toys is definitely a line up LRG's alley. Hopefully not a squishy line though, can't really tell that part...

Crashlings looks promising and I see a few cool sculpts. It's like an alien-themed Trash Pack. I really wish more modern mini figure lines would break from the cutesy/goofy design trend, though.

I am a bit disappointed that I haven't seen anything from Bandai's Godzilla movie offerings, or Mattel in the way of new WWE stuff.

Honestly, most of what I was looking forward to, just wasn't touched on.

Still, excited for those 2.5" scale Rocket Raccoons... But I don't collect 3.75" or 6" figures, so I was shit out of luck I guess.

Yeah i heard they were gonna show anything for awhile. although some leaked pics have gotten out. All ive seen has been larger figures. would be nice to see a mini figure line, but who knows.

 my god, so much this.

Speaking of Godzilla minis, does anyone know what series this one is from? Picked it up from a yard sale for $.25 last year but I haven't been able to determine anything about it. It's PVC and seems it's not very old maybe released within the past 3-5 years. I really like the combination of clear/painted elements (assuming this is supposed to depict charging for his electric breath attack, or whatever)

No, that's supposed to be Burning Godzilla, from 1995's Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. Godzilla is experiencing a meltdown of his nuclear-fueled body and is literally burning up from the inside out.

That figure is a common bootleg of an old High Grade figure of him. On the real thing, those clear parts are clear orange.

I was hoping for the curtain to be lifted on the movie Godzilla stuff, or at least some leaks here and there, but it was not to be! On the other hand, NECA did finally reveal one of their classic Godzilla figures (two in the first assortment) and someone partially revealed their 12" tall articulated Godzilla 2014: http://imgur.com/a/j9kql
