Trying to get back into the hobby after a 30 year absence. I purchased 60 z-bots for $76 on ebay - I felt to be a tremendous value and made a great friend for life -
I am noticing the sentimentality, wisdom and kindness of like age now middle aged men who grew with this toy niche around the same time.
Monsters in my Pocket were the first and fondest fad entering the elementary. I sold out and pawned off my collection as a kid soon after and went right into pogs.
I am finding now these vintage toys to be quite the collectors item with large premiums. I like a deal - and would like to collect mini figure toy lines that are undervalued.
Picked up some Trash Bag Bunch as well. Battle Beasts were before my time and have no appeal. I imported one mini boglin pointing a gun to his head because it is incredible - I hope to be buried with that one. M.U.S.C.L.E was my first but not as fond as monster and those are expensive too. I am near finished collecting wrist watches - exiting that hobby, invested in silver but prices have doubled so i'm out. Looking for the kind of thing I could spend $5 here and there on. I picked up one Super Scary series 4 - and it sucks even worse than I remember - learning that outside the US - it goes up to series 8 and gets very weird- the Wrestlers are super stupid, accept for Tony the Tiger but I do like the dino's - aliens kind of meh. I learned of this series from Japan called Neclos Fortress - they seem to be like the Rolls-Royce, largest most expensive hardcore line of mini figures ever devised - pretty intense. I am writing in hopes someone can respond with advice on how to go about this in the most economic way - if there is anything out there to collect that is not as popular or under valued - something I could break even on or better if I ever wanted to buy and sell. Thank you.
