Personally, buying just one page of a comic book, even if it is original artwork, doesn't really appeal to me.
Maybe, if it was a full page, single-panel of a character that I liked. But for just a regular, multi-panel page yanked out of the middle of the story?
Not for me.
I agree 100%. Cover artwork or splash pages will always be more desirable than just a singular page. I did some investigating of the seller and he has the original cover artwork to issue #1 in his personal collection, and I think that's really cool.
For me, subject matter is what's important. There's just not a lot of original artwork for Battle Beasts that's even available for sale. Somewhere, the Hasbro paintings for the packages exist, but there are only a handful of those and they'd bring a fortune if they ever came up for sale. For $50, I can now say I have one piece of original Battle Beast artwork.
I was very lucky for my Mr. T collection. I have a panel done by Jack Davis for Mad Magazine. However, he did the piece separately, so it's just Mr. T firing a gun rather than a whole page of other stuff that I wouldn't fit in my collection. So sometimes, you luck out with interior page artwork.
