So....anyone playing Street Fighter IV on the 360? It's pretty amazing. And i need someone to fight. :)

Speaking of which, how does it play without the arcade sticks? I might pick it up, but I'm certainly not shelling out another $80 for the joystick just to be able to play this game a little bit better.

Speaking of which, how does it play without the arcade sticks? I might pick it up, but I'm certainly not shelling out another $80 for the joystick just to be able to play this game a little bit better.



I'd certainly like an arcade stick at some point, but i can play pretty competitively on the standard controller using the analog stick instead of the terrible d-pad.

i can't stand the arcade stick unless im playing at the arcade... too bulky for me to deal with. i love the controller anyways. :)

I love the controller too, but it's got the worst d-pad since the dreamcast. Like i said though, i've adapted pretty well to using the analog stick for just about everyone.

So far my online win ratio is pretty decent, so it's working out.

i haven't played it yet, arcade or home system versions, is it as reactive as the old 2d games, or is it slow like soul calibur and tekken? third strike is still my favorite of the series, with alpha 3 a close second.

Woo! It will be nice to play something other than a constant Ken/Akuma/Ryu cycle.

I mainly use Balrog and Zangief myself. The funny thing is that i fought someone online earlier tonight...they were using Akuma and constantly spamming fireballs. I kicked their trash with Zangief and then they sent me a long and horribly spelled message about how i suck and how i was using a cheap character. Really? The slowest character, biggest target, with no projectile moves? Really?? :)

haha... sweet. I myself am guilty of regularly using Akuma/Ryu/Ken lately ive been using Guile or DeeJay on HD remix... and i can safely say ive never been good with Zangief. :)

DeeJay is awesome. I've never been able to use him well, but i'm always in awe of anyone who manages to completely curbstomp me with him. I was sad to see he's not in IV.

I will admit that they've definitely tweaked Zangief for the better this time around, he's nowhere near as difficult to use. But he's been one of my main characters since i first got SFII on the SNES. Really the only constant for me from game to game...his absence was why i hated SFIII and quit playing it after about a week.

In other news, you're playing HD Remix? Sweet...don't need to wait to get SF IV to fight me then...my gamertag is skumdogg. :)

Yeah i play HD every night before bed... sad thing is i have never actually played online. i only connected my xbox once and that was to dload the game... but im sure that will change soon, since things have calmed down and im back at my place again with the "GF". I should be up and Fighting soon enough tho... i'll make sure you're the first to know. :)

(on a side note... have you got the drawing yet~?)

Alright I gave in and picked it up today.
It's fun,I have'nt gotten into the real tech stuff yet,but it looks good.

Man the end boss 'Seth' is kind of a pain in the ass.

Yeah, he's definitely the worst part of the game. Which kinda sucks because you do have to play through arcade mode quite a bit to unlock all the characters...i still have five left to get because i've mainly been playing online.

Yeah, it's....kinda freakish. Of course the SOTA Zangief was kind of garbagey itself. I think one of the better ones so far (and the only one i own) was from the ToyBiz X-Men vs. Street Fighter line. Came with a cape and everything. :rolleyes:
