Anyone purchase it yet? I got the XBOX version yesterday, Spawn got some nice moves, that one throw where he tosses you into the air and hits you with that green fire, that's the shizznit, his air fire ball move is good also, takes away damn near half your life. The gameplay is crisp and the graphics are solid, this has got to be one of my favorite games of all time...

Im aiming at trying to get it for my birthday. Cause the games that are getting my money in the near furture are: Wrestle Mania XIX (September 9th), and Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain (Octorber 29th).

But when I do get one, its gonna be the GameCube version, cause I rather play as Link than Hiechi <sp?>

I got my copy, and this is, by far, the best next gen fighter ever! IMO

...and in the opinion of MANY other, as well.

However, I just am not drawn to this game much. I thought Soul Caliber in the arcades sucked arse, I never played it on dreamcast, and the Soul Caliber 2 demos didn't impress me much.

Right now, the only fighter I have is VF 4. It's pretty good.

I just wish I could see what everyone is so insane over. I want to love Soul Caliber 2, too.

Yeap, 3 different versions - 3 different character.

PlayStation 2 - Heichi (Tekken)
GameCube - Link
X-Box - Spawn

I think that it is pretty neat, no matter what system you get, you get an exclusive character.

Advantage-POWER! at 400lb.,wount you be able to snap someone like a twig?

Disadvantage-Speed. pay close attention to this one. ASTROTH is faster then Spawn. soneone like Ivy or Kilt -Err..I mean,Assassan can kill you before you move foward.

Link

Advantage-Speed and balance. A well balanced characher. Has lots of range with his Arrows and his bombs make for intresting mind games (taunting the player to attack and such).

Disadvantage-Openings. ALmost everything Link can do will make him subject to an attack if someone Perries or doges within time.

Playstation 2
Heihatchi

Advantage-Exelent face-to-face fighter.

Disadvantage-Read Above. Someone like Ivy or Astroth can just simply move away and take care of busness in the corner while Heihachi is running to the corner.

I've did it, everything there is to unlock in the game has been unlocked, I have handed down beatings to everyone in my path, and I must say, I'm somewhat dissapointed in the art section, I'd prefer if it had the same amount, if not more content then the Dreamcast SC did, and as for Spawn, no, he isn't slower than Astaroth, I should know, Spawn is my main character and I've mastered him in every aspect, his moves are quick for his size, and at the right hands and wtith a weapon like the Abomination or the Soul Edge, he is the incarnate of death himself...

My friend has the Gamecube version. He never stops playing it. I played it abit.. I'm good with Nightmare (He's so cool.. I love ALL his forms) and Chai. I like how Mitsurugi (the English voice actor) talks like an old record. Most of the English cast sucked. Ah well. I enjoy the game

Personally I think the english voices are good, I especially like Ivy's, Astaroth's, Nightmare's, Talim and Spawn's (which sounds like the HBO series!) However I find Xianugha to be annoying as hell, if anything it just makes me wanna beat her into a pile of blood and guts, "Just kidding", yeah, just kidding when Spawn rips your intestines out huh?

Yeah, the hbo series is awesome, btw those you mentioned are the only tolerable voices in the game, my bottom 5.

Spawn and Link are by far better exclusive Icons for the game

Heh, that's funny. I purposely bought the PS2 version because I think Link is pretty gay and I've never like Spawn.

I wount want to diss Heihatchi. He's actual a DAMN good fighter. But I still say,they should of Put in KOS-MOS from Xenosaga to the mix insted of Heihatchi.

Not really diss-ing the fighting ability of Heihatchi

but comparing the 3 exclusive characters it just seems like he is the less known character

Like for example I never played Zelda but I know about Link and all the games he's in

And I never read Spawn comics but I know some basic Spawn info

and I never played Tekken and I know nothing about Heihatchi
heck I wouldnt even know if that was his name lol

but I guess everything could be reversed for a big Tekken fan so its all how ya look at it and what ya know

good point, they had their choice of chars, they could have just made their own original char, or asked todd mcfarlane to do another, or get the clown, or another spawn fighter.

That would make all the difference in the world for me. If she was in it, I would definitely buy the game. Now that would be a character with many possibilities.

I agree with some of you, when you say Heihatchi was a lame choice for a secret character for the PS2 version. Dante Sparda from Devil May Cry would have been perfect.

I noticed that Mitsurugi sorta resembles Manji from "Blade of The Immortal" in his third outfit, complete with the scar across the nose, I wonder if the outfit was in anyway inspired by it...
