i'm trying to track down an old series of "toys" i had when i was a kid. i say "toys" because they weren't really a toy. i think they were called belly buttons, maybe navels. they were cartoon-like faces that were suppose to be a belly button and they each had a name which fit their personality. i had the crusty old man one. they were basically little round pieces of plastic, kind of flat with a clip on the back. you could clip them to your shoe laces, or pockets or belts or just about anything else you'd like. the time was prolly around 1989 or 1990. anyone remember these? i'm looking for the correct name and manufacturer. hoping the track some down and build a collection.

I also had these "toys" and collected all of them, but can't remember the name of them for anything. I have tried numerous Google searches and it is like they never existed.

I had something similar in about 1985 or so: a round piece of plastic that I believe had a pinback or something on the back of it, with a piece of foam on the front that had jiggly eyes on it. There was a thin plastic piece, I think just one of those things from a price tag gun, that went though the center of the foam face. The point of the toy was to pull the thing and make the foam face kinda pucker up. My parents told me (I couldn't read) they were called Tug-a-Mug. I had several different ones. I guess they did look like belly button faces. Think these were what you're remembering?

Pukker Ups Tug-a-Mug. 1983, so earlier than you were thinking-- or were yours some later version? (Or something else entirely?)

Weird that a thread so old gets necro'd and answered right away.

I love you guys.

Way back when I first joined, I swore I read a post of his where he said he was friends with Maddox. Pretty cool! (Depending on your feelings of Maddox, of course.)

Don't know much else about the guy though! Haha.

Never knew of these. Found the old auction. Seller was asking for 600 bucks. Wow Hasbro made them. You'll never see that happen in this age.

So I was way off. Those are really funny and weird, I'm surprised I never saw them before! Definitely something I would've wanted back then if I had known about them.
