Well Too Much Coffee Man may not scream romantic to you guys... But it meant a lot to me! Back when I was transitioning out of working at the comic store, I was mentoring another guy to take over for me and gradually letting him do more and more of the orders for me. Well Diamond solicited a Randy Bowen TMCM mini-bust and at the time I was reading a lot more B&W and Indy comics than anything else. TMCM was one of my favorites. So I asked my successor to order one for me (and I think they were only $24.95 at the time) and of course... HE FORGOT. And of course they SOLD OUT (because it was only limited to 500 pieces)!!!
So I have had a hate/love relationship with this bust for almost a decade. While I wanted it, I never wanted to pay much for it... And when it's on Ebay it usually goes for $75-100. Years ago my wife saw my bidding on the thing (and always loosing because I didn't want to. Spend much knowing what I COULD have paid for it years ago).
I love this gift because she really put some though into it and paid attention to one of my many ramblings/rants and never forgot the story. She always says I'm terrible to shop for too... Because if want something I usually get it. It was truly a suprise!
