not again, not another toy line for me to love and then watch die. Checking out the site some of the monsters look pretty well detailed, while others look kinda crappy. Either way I might pick up some of these things. Was wondering how they would be packed though, packed like the Ultimate Muscle figures or the Fistful of Power figures....and will there be rare ones as well.......

/slap Jkaris

Hopfully TRU will carry them so that I can get somewhat of a discount on them...just like my games/star wars/ and mcfarlane figures :)

(EDIT) YAY! A return to the mythological roots of the original toyline! That was one of the things that made it great - it was actually educational without being stupid.

I think these look great. And I think there is a very simple recipe for these being successful.

Very low cost + interesting variants = Hit

If these have impulse purchase prices, then parents won’t argue with their kids about buying them. If they are flying off the shelves, then the line (which looks nice so far) can continue.

For those that don't know:

Hello Tony

Thank you for your e-mail.

The toy distribution company with the North American rights to the
"Monster In My Pocket" has informed us that the new line is targeted
for an early 2007 release date in the U.S. and Canada. We can't give
out much more in the way of details, as it is still in the early
stages of planning. Keep checking the website in the future for the
latest news regarding availability.

We're starting to receive a lot of early positive feedback in
anticipation of the new MIMP line. Thanks once again for your
interest in the new Monster In My Pocket.

Nice new Toyline. Great design, remembers me on Enchantica Figures. I will look forward to it.

"A confectionery line is due for launch in August 2006, which in its initial series will include a further 36 different Monsters. In all, around 60 different monsters will be available from launch. Retail prices will be keen, starting as low as £1.19 for the single confectionery pack."
The names of the figures are nearly complete from the old series 1.

Cool jkaris, i was about to create this topic on this board.

here is what the package will look like :

i've also contacted Meg about the french distribution, here is what they reply to me :

Hello Amaury

Thank you for your e-mail.

In Europe, the new Series 1 Monster In My Pocket line is available in the U.K. only at this time.  No toy distributors or retailers in France have plans currently to sell the new Monster In My Pocket, but we are hoping that will change quickly.  We have just launched the new line and it is still very early.  Once it is certain that the new toys are a success and are very popular, we expect a great deal of interest from many toy distributors and retailers, including those in France.  Keep checking our website for the latest news.

We're starting to receive a lot of early positive feedback in anticipation of the new MIMP line.  We're definitely glad to hear from loyal fans such as yourself.  Thank you once again for your interest in the new Monster In My Pocket line.

Cool jkaris, i was about to create this topic on this board.

here is what the package will look like :

Some of these are great! I will definitely be purchasing certain figures - like with Gormiti the artwork seems really good, but the paintwork on the figures is far superior to Gormiti. You can see the artwork and a close up of every figure here, along with the TV adverts. playsets etc etc:

www.mimp.co.uk

YOU MAY WONDER WHY I'VE POSTED A SIMILAR LINK TO THE ONE AT THE START OF THIS THREAD. THIS UK VERSION SHOWS 24 MORE FIGURES UNDER THE 'MEET THE MONSTERS' SECTION IN 4 NEW GROUPS!!!

It's nice that they've taken the time to put together what I think is a pretty good website (make sure your volume is turned up too!)

check out how cool 'Swamp beast' looks with some of my forest Gormiti:

yeah, further to what Truman said, they look about the same size, maybe a tiny bit bigger?? check out this screen shot from the advert (for comparison purposes the child whose hand it is must be about 10 years old)

Looking at the picture of the pakaging Truman posted earlier in this thread the figures will be visible.......

BUT.....

The second wave of release is the confectionary line, because the 36 different figures come in single pack so I reckon they will be concealed...hopefully! :)

I love how Kali is now just a six-armed sorceress.

What I REALLY love, though, is how my three favorites from the old series 1 arew here - Cockatrice, Tengu, and Haniver!

I like that they mixed up all the figures from the old series 1, 2, 3 and 4. Also added the unpublished Headless Man now!
I explored Siren, Leviathan, Centaur and Squarefoot from old series 3. I hope my favourites Anubis, Blemmyea and Amphisbaena comes out later. I look forward to them!

It is also a great idea to sell those extras like the haunted house playset. It was cancelled in the early 90' by morrison group.

I've just been looking at the originals of the 12 figures Truman told us about from the original series 1 that are missing from the new ones.

Do you think the unknown figure on the left could be Goblin?

The quote further up in this thread from the Corinthian website says:

In all, around 60 different monsters will be available from launch

This suggests all 60 original monsters will be released so it is possible that the unknown figure is Goblin.....but I find it very odd that Corinthian use the phrase "around 60" rather than using an exact figure!
