But did anyone notice this link:
http://www.entertain...er=DC73117#desc
It says they will have them in stock by April with the Prototype version of the new gator BB, specifically called "Gator Guard."
Since the case with the black/red gator came out like a morth or so ago, this appears to be the next step for DST on trying to introduce the new BBs to mini-mate collectors.
I will sure be looking out for this one next month, btw since the next gator bb is paired with that lab playset, should one consider that laboratory a Battle Beasts playset like the transforming Eagle, Shark and Beatle and Japanese Mountain Display?

All toys came from the original One Toy

Maybe this has been posted already, if so I'm sorry for the double topic.

I think this thing has been in the works since the middle of last year. And I don't think it was developed as being a Battle Beasts item in mind. I think it was made, and then later it was like "oh hey, we'll throw the Gator in there with this other random dude and make it a package deal" kinda thing.
I wouldn't consider it a BB base, just a Minimates base.

yeah been looking at this thing since it was first conceptualized and still hate it. Someone needs to get the rights and do BBs justice.
Too bad I have no money, funds, staff, or cast... I have a project WAY in the works, but at least I've developed more characters than one recoloring after another of Gator Guard.
The project is under my name, in the BB section of this board.

My thoughts are you keep something in the dark until you're at least three-quarters done with the project (in the professional world, amateur ranks run a bit differently: more looser), and when you know you've done good, THEN show it!
As for old school, JonnyPac. I can partially agree with you. New school is good when it respects and tributes to the old, yet reinvents itself to stand out to be it's own incarnation (why I can like GI Joe: Renegades, and not GI Joe Extreme)
