I'm sure Nathan would love to rip this guy a new a-hole and is much more passionate about doing so, so I'll leave it up to him.
Actually, I'm quite pleased that this guy is so completely devoid of common sense as to put the first bid at $49. There's no way anybody's going to pay that much for this thing, and he'll be out the $1 or so for listing the auction. Hell, there are reissue Starscreams going for $15! What kind of a moron would think that someone would pay $50 for this thing?! HA HA!!!
Anyway, keep in mind that the Transformers PVC sellers KNOW that we can't get these things over here, so they can charge pretty much whatever they want. As usual, my advice for those who want to combat scum-sucking toy dealers/scalpers (which there is little difference, in my opinion) is to NOT BUY FROM THEM. EVER. Sure they have a monopoly, but what good is a monopoly of stuff that they can't sell?
I'm sure you guys love these PVCs, but you have to ask yourself if they're really worth the trouble. I mean, the prices for all the Transformers PVCs are ridiculous, and the Transformers fan base, for some reason, readily pays the inflated prices. $8 seems to be the minimum... and they're only two inches tall or something like that, right? They look like they're sold in gumball machines, for God's sake!
I say, just wait a bit for things to calm down and they'll be much cheaper. It's better than giving in, and paying outlandish prices, thereby supporting the toy dealers.
