I'm still surprised there are still people out they're that don't have Instagram!

I met another collector recently that doesn't use it as well. I think i sell more keshi and mini figures there than anywhere else.

No, you!

I wouldn't know where to begin when it comes to using Instagram as a resource for buying and selling. Following specific artists or collectors, that at least I get. The app also seems to be a pain to add specific people, but I haven't had time for much practice.

I also don't use Instagram or even know anything about it. I have Facebook, that's it.

Is Instagram just for posting your pictures?

My friends and I was talking about Instagram not to long ago. One of my friends said "What is Instagram? Oh it's that site where b****s post pictures of their food."

I only follow collectors and artists that post toys (plus collector friends). I mainly post my toy collection, and the toys i make there (its so much easier). So many people have giveaways and its the only way to see certain toys for sale.

To each their own, but as a collector i think you are missing out.

Still don't understand. Haha

I think people have an idea in their head what its about and what you have to do. I gave up my blog and just use instagram to promote everything. Plus i found out about so many different toy lines and new toy makers from Instagram.

You post a pic and talk about it in a couple words.

I made an instagram for these reasons recently and I'm glad I did. Made some great trades already with more in the works, and plus now that I have started making figures I feel like it is a great way to get the word out about them, even met up with one local dude IRL at a flea market.

I have also been learning about lines of figs that I otherwise would not have learned about.

It has been a really positive experience so far and I would really recommend it to anyone who doesn't have one.

I briefly had a personal/non toy instagram a few years back but lost interest, I have also never had a facebook.

I don't use any social media only instagram because its hub for learning about toy lines, artists, clothes whatever your into really.

I have no interest in Facebook or any of that stuff for me instagram is a whole different thing.

Most of the stuff that would probably interest me to the point of shelling out money, in the current state of my life anyway, is unlikely to be the sort of things you see for sale there often BUT I don't have any particular aversion to Instagram. I simply happen to not use it much since creating the account a month ago. I'm going to take more steps to explore the app this week and see what's out there. Aside from that thread of LRG users on Instagram, anyone in particular you recommend that sells stuff there?

Just throwing in my 2 cents. I started using instagram somewhat recently ( @delta_orange ) and I have been really enjoying it immensely. The free self promotion and visibility it gives artists is amazing, and the networking connects you right to your target audience. It is really helping me come out of my shell / slump and connect with other like minded people I might never have crossed paths with otherwise. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you have a creative bone in your body. It is a collector's heaven too.

I plan to share my new illustrations with people who I feel are going to appreciate them and if I throw my hat into the ring with making my own figures down the line, I already know a ton of people I can ask for advice / might be interested in supporting me.
