This happened today...

Your balloon creations are fantastic.......as for the film, go see it but I would advise that if you haven't watched Prometheus for a while, watch it first.

I saw it and was underwhelmed.
I was really rooting for this to be good.
I loved Prometheus. This one was very predictable too.

A common theme I am seeing is that people who loved Prometheus do not like Alien Covenant. And people who hated Prometheus love Alien Covenant.

I thought Prometheus was an excellent movie. It was different and interesting. And it set up a great story to be told in the sequel. And the producers just decided to completely abandon that idea and go in a completely different direction.

It didn't work for me. I've never been more disappointed in a movie that I saw in theaters than this.

Alien Resurrection was a crap movie as a sequel. But on its own, it was a decent movie. Alien Covenant, to me was just bad and wrong in every way.

But the good news is there will be a sequel to Alien Covenant. So the producers and writers have a chance to redeem themselves and fix the mess they left with this one.

I hope it performs well in the box office... it came in under expectations this weekend.  May slow down the process of filming the next one (even though Ridley Scott said they would start on the next one towards the end of next year I think).

Well, Domestically it probably won't even make back its budget. With Guardians still doing well and Pirates 5 coming out, Covenant will have a big drop off. But, the total worldwide gross as of now has made more than the budget cost, so it will be profitable. But studios always have high hopes. This movie will not make the money that Prometheus made. So they have to consider do they want to make another that will do even worse than Covenant? Same thing happened to Terminator franchise. Each movie they make has made less money than the previous one.

They really need to take a hard look at the story idea and script for the next one and actually make a movie that answers questions instead of leaving the viewer confused and wondering what just happened and why.

It's cool to see Aliens on screen doing what they do, but we need questions answered. Mainly, why is there a fossilized Engineer "Space Jockey" on a crashed ship with freshly laid Facehugger eggs in the original Alien? Among other questions. Hopefully if they do the next movie, these will be answered.

Prometheus was such a trash movie that they've lost my money for any future instalments. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way either, and I'm positive this is one of the many causes this movie isn't doing as well as it could. (Outside of the fact that it's getting some pretty mediocre reviews.)
