Found this for my wife today, but we haven't been able to determine his origin or what he once was! There are no markings, but he has a weird plug in his head. Mobile is giving me issues and only letting me do one photo right now, so I'm posting it of the plug on top. This figure is about five inches tall.

I got it now. I think?

Forgot to mention that the figure is hollow and he looks like he may have had a base.

I have seen one of these before but didn't know he had a plug in the top. I have over 250 Super Mario figures & none of the others have this either......

My first guess was money bank but now I'm thinking some kind of night light

Christmas light.  That's why the plug is on top I suspect.

It just looks like a hollow rubber toy with a plug glued in the top to maintain the shape.  Does it sink in when you squeeze it?  If not, the plug is secure and doing it's job.  If it gives in and squeaks, they you've got a doggie toy. :)

It also looks like the plug provides a means for hanging.  Looks like a clasp or wire is broken or cut inside the plug.  Pop that sucker out and find out what the deal is.

It doesn't squeak, and the plastic is very firm. I won't be able to squeeze it without damaging it.

So I was thinking about that clasp being more of a hanging thing on top of it's head, but that doesn't explain why it's off center then.  I thought perhaps it could even have been an ornament, but the way it's off center throws me off.

On a mildly related note, in doing some googling for old school Christmas lights that are Mario themed I cam across a kick ass Boo Motion Sensor light that's pretty awesome lol...

I realize in my haste to upload this before bed last night, I didn't post anything for scale. This figure is around the same size as a Funko! Pop figure, only perhaps a little bit shorter.

Wow that's one HUGE Christmas light!!!!

No, but seriously... I have no idea then.  The size revelation changes my perspective on it considerably.

Those Boo lights are about $5 on Yahoo Japan.

I still go with an older night light, too big for a Xmas Ornament

It is hollow, (I didn't include a picture of that because the uploaded was being finicky on my mobile device), and the bottom is open which is why I felt there used to be a base or something.

Yeah - once Draz revealed the size there's no way it's an ornament.  I like your nightlight idea... but if it's as big as a funko pop that's a little big for even a night light.  But nightlight sounds pretty good.  I'm really curious about that thing on his head.
