Hello to those who remember me, and Hi to those new members I'm sure are rife in this good old community.

I thought I'd drop by and mention what's going on in my life at the moment.  I'm running for Federal Senate in Mississippi.

I remember this forum leaned a bit libertarian, but I'm a Progressive.  It's going to be a really tough race, though, as I'm not rich and my opponent has about four million dollars in hand and has already spent a million on his re-election, even though it's just me he's against at the moment.  If you're interested, the website is below:

http://www.vote4jensen.com

I'm also now tweeting ( @bohrenjensen ) and have a Facebook page for the campaign, too ( http://www.facebook.com/vote4jensen)

I probably won't drop by here for a long while, so if you have any questions, contact me via the Facebook page.

I've only gotten a little press, but this one was actually quite good:  https://millennialpo...en-mississippi/

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

As someone who has stood unsuccessfully for election on more occasions than I can recall (albeit never with any hope of winning) you have my sympathies.

I've checked the incumbent out. In a sane world that guy would be thrown into a padded cell. A sensible, reasonable fellow like you is definitely facing an uphill battle here if that's the kind of lunatic they normally elect. I wish you all the luck in the world.

The LRG world never seizes....

Well, I dunno if that is completely true; after all, there might be a member or two with a seizure disorder.  I had an uncle that dealt with epilepsy.

I don't have seizures, but I do go into a berserker rage now and then...And when I do, one eye twitches and squints small, and the other eye bugs out  :aggressive:

Good luck, bro!

If I was in your area I'd be voting for you.

I'm happy to see so many Americans in support of things like medical care for everyone. Such a basic necessity that every first-world country offers it's citizens, (except for you guys, of course). I'm seeing it more and more, and it's a really awesome thing to see.

As a side note: You'll probably win some votes by saying small businesses can't afford a wage hike, but I'd like to see some numbers on that. Here in Ontario, Canada we just had our minimum wage hiked up by approximately 24%. Conservatives were screaming that this would kill small business, but so far it has had very little effect outside of the greedy big chains slashing worker benefits.

Given the US is seeing decreasing life expectancy, widening income inequality, an unprecedented opioid epidemic and the highest rate of gun deaths in the developed world, it's clear that whatever is currently being attempted is not working as it should.

I am sure Orgg will be mentioning all of these things in his campaign... ;)

Wow!  Thanks for the encouragement, guys!

I expected a "Haha, stop wasting your time!" sentiment on one or two posts.

Frankly, it's looking a bit rough.  I'm only $600 away from the ballot fee, but maybe I was wrong with how many people in Mississippi would support a Progressive candidate.

Either that, or Mississippi is overall poor, and people just don't have the cash to spare.

If any of ya'll are US Citizens and want to chip in, feel free.  It's gonna be a tough fight, even if I can get the funding train out of the station.
