Here's the first of what I hope will be at least six. Was a lot of fun to do, and came togather really quick. would suggest printing on cardstock, for anyone wanting to print it. will post pics of them built on last day of contest. Madballs rock!

I'm calling these MADBLOKZ. Of the 1st series madballs, screaming mimi was always my least favorite. I made this one much more crazy looking, and moved the stitching much farther back to de-emphasize. Really happy with the new look. Skull Face and Slobulus are next...

Have any of them really been media-restricted though? I thought we could pretty much do any style of art for any contest, and people just tended to go with 2D?

No, never been any media restrictions.
It's awesome how this particular art challenge is bringing out incredible new ideas.
These artists are really excersizing their talents beyond the norm.
Refreshing and impressive!

This is the first challenge for me to go back to color pencils, which might explain the momentum I've got going. skullface is my third entry drawn in 24 hours, that's just crazy! As soon as I get done with this post, I'm starting slobulus!

Anyone know a good visual reference for the wierdballs? After these six, they're next! And if I have enough time left before oct 1st, BLOKLINZ!

Thanks for the link. With how fast I'm making these, its very likely that WIERDBLOKZ are on the near horizon. 2 left to do in the MADBLOKZ run (bashbrain and hornhead).

Reccoom, I've got to say a couple things.
First of all, your MADBLOKZ are the most creatively awesome things I've seen anyone do in a long time! Not just these FACs, but I mean anywhere.
Second, your execution of them is perfection. The illustrative technique, the colors, the textures, the details and the overall designs are of absolute top notch quality.
I am just really impressed!!

i'm with kevin mayle on this one. reccoom just raised the bar pretty damn high. very very cool concept. my entry is no where near on par with these beauties. i shall continue though, after the time i've put into this one so far, it'd be a shame to start over. especially since i squandered my time on the last contest.

I will show the six stacked in Q-bert fashion (am I really that old? )

I realized with slobulus that I was not doing near enough shading to define, so with Bashbrain here I took some influence from Eric Powell. This one's my favorite so far.

The ever-popular Hornhead, drawn in a more cartoony style than the other 5. I also made sure his horn, nosering, and ears are all on corners, making it the best-executed of the six.

Say hello to Yin Yang Yuck!

I can't stop making these! With a whole day off, and no Boglin or Wierdball resources at hand, I started designing my own ODDBLOKZ, and I'm already 1/3 done with a snigator hand/face, and the concepts for five more originals!

I agree, these are unimaginably awesome! Although I think you should only submit the shot with all the Madballs stacked together rather than individually so you don't split your votes.

Great job with Yin Yang Yuck! :D
