Keeping track of them

I sorted mine the other day by comparing each one to the pic on the poster and then writing the number on each figure with a magic marker (just kidding- I put them in little zip lock bags and wrote the number on the bag). I used a laser print of the poster and hi-lighted the pic as I put the figure in the bag. So now I have a box full of figures in bags but I still have to sort throught them to find a specific figure.
When I see the trade lists in the "Got Toys?" forum, that makes it hard for me to connect the figure to the number.
Is there an simple way to keep track?

Styrofoam, Permenant marker, and mucsle men. Number the spaces where the figures go. Then stick them in the appropriate spot. Easy to see what you have and what colors you have.

A spreadsheet is a very good idea. I was thinking about doing that too, but I haven't had the time to load the software. Either that or I've been a lazy M.U.S.C.L.E. Head!I actually made a spreadsheet in Excel to add and sort my figures by color and number. Just a few formulas and the totals are right there for you.

Ask Warsman all about MuscleDex. It's a program he created and you can download it from his website. It's awesome. Ask him about it.what is the "muscle_dex"?
