This and that - mostly that!

They're in shadow boxes - I love how they look - I will never sell them, but my wife asked me the other day what I think the set is worth. She's been asking me this question about a lot of my collection lately (not sure what she's planning!) and I have been able to answer her on most, including my Pokemon base set 1 set hah, but I'm stumped on the value of my flesh set. All the figures are as mint as would be expected, with no damaged figures or major warps as such. Any ideas?

$300 for the set plus the cost of the boxes.

Hopefully she isn't calculating costs for a divorce. That would really suck rocks.

Nice one, so that's about £190  Ha it wouldn't be for a divorce :) I think she's trying to convince me to sell stuff before our baby is born

I sold a complete Flesh set without Satan Cross on eBay last week for $300.  So, I'd say the poster figures in a set are $300 and the Satan Cross is another $40-$50

$300 is the average I think with 236 included. I've sold 5 complete sets on eBay and they all sold for $300-$315

It's like a frame where the glass sticks out away from the backing. Sports jerseys, butterflies or anything much thicker than a poster/print/painting would usually be encased in one. They commonly have shelves or a grid system for putting knick knacks...or MUSCLES :)

I was curious to know how they got their name thinking it was due to the shadows the objects inside the frame would cast. Not sure of the validity of this as it is Wikipedia but it is interesting: "Military shadow boxes were originally simple boxes in which sailors retiring from shipboard service carried their belongings ashore. Superstition held that if the sailor's shadow touched shore before he set foot upon it, he would suffer ill luck. By carrying his belongings, a metaphorical "shadow" of himself, enclosed within the box he could ensure he would touch land before his "shadow"."

I also recently saw a set without Satans Cross sell for a little over $300.

Something like this.  Some have more depth to them, these look fairly flat.

The flatter ones I have seen, all have some kind of padding which makes whatever's inside press against the glass. The flat padded ones remind me of zoo displays of butterflies or moths, etc....

The thicker ones could be customized with slots, little squares, or shelves. Some of the thicker ones I have seen are 2.5 inches thick.

Dude, love the way you've got your figures set up!

Those aren't my toys! Haha.... Smuggled that pic out of the matrix
