I know Im late to this party, but wanted to chime in. THis is called Shill Bidding. Its basically when someone you know bids on your auction which already has bids (on purpose), until the price goes up just past the last bidder's highest bid was. Then your friend retracts their bids and you are left with the highest bid from the original bidder. Pretty shady and against ebay policy and actually illegal I believe, in some places. Not cool.

Yes we're all familiar with what shill bidding is here - unfortunately. This is why most of us avoid eBay and sell here. Sometimes, however, we have to turn to eBay as there isn't the interest levels here.
