Sorry for the delays, but better late than never! Here's the Poll for FAC 12, LRG vs. Capcom! I'm a bit disappointed by the number of entries this time around, as this was a category teeming with possibility as far as characters and ideas. But the five entries we did get were all top-notch, seriously impressive work from everyone this time around! Voting just keeps getting harder and harder.

I voted for theorgg as well. Partly because i've actually been playing the M.U.S.C.L.E. NES game a lot lately, but mostly because it just makes my day.

And Veers, you called me right out on this one. That's what i get for doing my entry the night it's due. :laugh: One of my weaker showings so far i think, but it made me wanna do some more stuff with Mega Man characters....

I ended up voting for Kinnikuman vs. Okami. I love the line style... it's a great reproduction of traditional Japanese art. Seres really nailed the look and feel for this one. (Okami is a PS2 Capcom game, by the way.)

The penguin battle was great, too. I dig the style and colors... it's classic Scumdogg. Also, the Megaman penguin looks fantastic. I hope you get a chance to do more Megaman characters, Scum!

Hawkman was also another great entry. I loved the stained glass look. I thought it was a nice extra aspect that differentiated it from a simple box art reproduction. Great detail, too... lots of nice line work there.

I came very close to voting for Kinnikuman vs. Zangief. It's a great concept. Come to think of it, I've really liked Theorgg's entries recently. Props to him.

this one was easy for me.

although scumdogg is my brother and i love everything he does, i hate penguins. couldn't get over that fact and thus could not vote for him.

reccoom's hawkman's legendary wings is slightly reminiscent of the artist david flores, at least it was to me. so it was hard for me not to vote for it.

theorgg's kinnikuman vs zangief shows a great deal of creativity if not a lot of detail. this type of "out of the box" (i know, i hate that phrase too) thinking is what makes these contests so great and i think every time someone has a brainstorm like this it helps all of us to think differently about our next entry.

tortle's entry was the definite honorable mention for me. it's zombies for hell's sake. i love zombies. not only is it kickass zombies, but they're also eating ryu and megaman. i always loved destroying ryu on street fighter and i was never into the megaman games. one last element that makes his picture excellent. zombie ape. nuff said.

my vote went with little hesitation to seres wyvern's kinnikuman vs. okami. there isn't a single thing about it that i don't like. she's done an excellent job recreating the art style of the game. it's almost like an old twilight zone episode where kinnikuman gets sucked into the television and he's suddenly smack in the middle of the videogame. it's absolutely beautiful. great job.

great job to everyone. although the number of entries is much lower this month (sorry again), i don't think the level of talent is lower. another excellent contest and it seems everyone is getting stronger. i can't wait until 13.

I did something similar to put in a vote. I rolled a d6 until one of the entries came up three times. Then I voted for the winner.


A winner is Me. Randomly. (though I still feel a ~tad~ guilty about voting for myself, I'll admit)
