Hey guys, been a while. I was on ebay for something else and searched for M.U.S.C.L.E. on a whim. Whats up with all these lots of muscle-like toys from Super7 with the M.U.S.C.L.E. logo and packaging? Its not related to the custom stuff THEGODBEAST was doing back in the day is it?

I was sad to see a lot of my bookmarked pages no longer existed, the MuscleDB, Nathan's muscle page, soupie's color archive, and the muscle figure classification guide, glad to see the forum is still active though. Maybe those pages are archived somewhere.

So, we have to worry about dyed figures floating around now? I saw that article on the UofM. Sad to know ARforbes is still up to shenanigans. I did a few trades with him back in the day, I had to go check a figure, but it looks legit. Sounds like the whole dye thing didn't start until maybe 2011?

Did anyone see that auction for the prototype #005 and #012 with the letter of provenance from the mattel engineer, Robert Cowell? Anyone here buy them? I didn't see any posts about those auctions, seemed pretty significant.

Hello, welcome back! Here is a few new things. For a little bit super 7 did licensed keshi figures using the m.u.s.c.l.e. name, but it is not related to THEGODBEAST customs. recently though they lost the m.u.s.c.l.e. name, so they are just call keshi surprise. https://super7.com/c...s/keshi-figures - Last year mattel did make a set of street shark M.u.s.c.l.e. figures but have not done anything since. There is now a facebook group for M.u.s.c.l.e. figures. https://www.facebook...22405421541760/ - It has quite a few members and is a little bit more active than LRG, but I still like LRG more. That is just a little bit of the new things though.

Welcome back to the board. Your bookmarks may just be out of date because Soupie's Muscle Color Archive and Nathan's MUSCLE page are still alive and kicking!

Wow, Beligerant1 is a name I haven't seen around here in about ten years! Always cool when an member from back in the day chimes in, it's like a blast from the past!

Were the figures in the auction you mentioned different in any way from their standard poster counterparts?

Over the years there have been a few instances of "prototypes" of M.U.S.C.L.E. items that pop up for auction, though few ever pan out to be anything of the sort.

Aside from the two ring figures, one of which was only slightly modified, all M.U.S.C.L.E.s were direct copies of existing Kinkeshi. If anything, so called prototypes of any of the poster figures and the handful of non-poster figures would likely be original Kinkeshi that made their way to Mattel's offices for in-house corporate introductory or design purposes, e.g. fitting figures into re-branded packaging, advertisement photography, accessory design, etc.

Bearing that in mind, it is unlikely that there are any design prototypes of #005 or #012 since those sculpts were not original to the North American toy line. It's possible some of the first test shots done at the plant ended up in the hands of employees at the time, but such a claim is hard to prove even with a signed affidavit.

nah, they were just off-color #005 and #012, came with a letter signed by a guy that supposedly used to work with mattel, set the price at $1000

Is there a dedicated thread for all the Super7 stuff? I haven't seen many posts about the line.

No. Most posts about them are in the Other Toys and Toylines section, based on their corresponding genre.

If you are looking for specific info, you can search for Super7 or "Super 7". If you just want to chat about them, feel free to start a new topic.

BTW, welcome to the LRG!
