I finally pulled the trigger on this set.  I can't resist unusual Statue of Liberty figures.

Anyway, I am wondering what it says under or next to each figure.

I hope they are not overtly anti-USA somehow! Haha.

Please let me know if you can translate.

I am super curious to see what a Japanese designer had to say about such an iconic American landmark.

The second picture is just to give you a better look at the figures -- if you are curious.

This is not my photo, I just bought the set today!  Eagerly anticipating their arrival!

Found this on a blog:

In Japan, the Statue of Liberty is known as the Jiyuu Megami or "Freedom Goddess."

As such, Takara Tomy Arts has named their symbol of her the Jiyuu Sugiru Megami or "Too Free Goddess,"

or as we might call her here in the states, "Lady with Too Much Liberty."

The word jiyuu can also refer to "unrestricted" or "as one pleases."

The English text on the promotional poster says this:

"Be free from all restraints that bind you.

Wreck all the old ideas that tie you.

Even more, be free from the idea of 'free' itself.

The usual 'liberty' is not perfect freedom."

I think they are trying to say that freedom means more than liberty.

The Freedom Goddess is also free to do as she pleases...  to be playful, shy, seductive, etc...

Of course, I am interested in more specific and intentional translations for each figure.

I think I have found answers for 4/6 because a different seller has the Japanese in the listing!

自由すぎてほっかむる女神

google translates as:

"Relieved to Kamuru goddess is free too"

babylon translates it as:

"too goddess desire freedom crown"

syntran translates it as:

"Being too free, the ho tsu the ru goddess which bites"

No, it's not Cornholio.  I would interpret this figure to mean the freedom to be playful or childish, but the translations are not necessarily suggesting this.

This one:

自由すぎて三つ指つく女神

google translates as:

"Goddess you get Mitsuyubi is free too"

babylon translates it as:

"Too much freedom goddess take three fingers"

syntran translates as:

"Being too free, three fingers the goddess which is attached"

I see this figure as a "freedom of religion" piece, though I don't know what the 'three fingers' stuff means in the translations.  There is a Buddhist Mudra where you connect your thumb and forefinger in a circle and keep the other three fingers straight, but obviously the figure isn't doing this.

This one:

自由すぎて恥じらう女神

google translates as:

"Goddess you feel self-conscious in freedom too"

babylon translates it as:

"too much freedom goddess blush"

syntran translates as:

"being too free, the goddess which you are shy"

All three translations connect this one in the same way.  The freedom to be self-conscious, shy, and to blush.  I would specifically say she is demonstrating the freedom to be coy: "Affecting shyness or modesty in order to attract masculine interest."  I see it as more flirtatious and playful, and not just shy, per se. This is my 3rd favorite in the set.

This one:

自由すぎてブリッジする女神

google translates as:

"Goddess to bridge with freedom too"

babylon has this as:

"too much freedom bridge goddess"

syntran translates as:

"being too free, the bridge the goddess which is done"

Well, at least "bridge" is in all translations.  The freedom to bridge or to be a bridge can mean a yoga pose or something more philosophical. Either way, it looks painful!

Found the 5th one.

自由すぎて誘う女神

Google translates as:

"Goddess invites you freely too"

Maybe they are more subversive than I initially thought!

They made a video for each figure

Obviously, I don't know what they are saying, but each one ends violently!

Dig a little deeper to the third degree, and you find out that a Series 2 is on the way!

Hopefully I can catch these early and get them for half of what I paid for the first series!

Plus there is 5 figures instead of 6.  Good ones though!

OMG, the one having a beer is epic!
