An unexpectedly fantastico mail day!!

Close to a full set of the legendary Ben Cooper SUPER BUGS!   I'm certainly appreciative of the modern Imperial rubbery goodies, but nothing -- nothing -- comes close to the feel, design, and the smell of these classic Ben Coopers....

Attached File  IMG_4302.JPG   113.01K   12 downloads

I honestly was prepared for a bit of disappointment, seeing as how I hadn't held any of these guys in my grip for 40-odd years, but a warm nostalgia washed over me once I pulled them from their soapy bath....

Gorgeous mini Lov-a-Bles jigglers & a mini Mumzey!  These are becoming more scarce with each passing year, it seems, especially in great condition!  (They even had their hang cords, same as the Ben Coopers, which I quickly cut away.)

Spoiler

Some Kinnikuman folks that I don't necessarily recognize & a neat rubbery lizard guy!

Attached File  IMG_4306.JPG   98.55K   20 downloads

Rubber He-Man & minty Tara Toys Cookie Monster!

Attached File  IMG_4307.JPG   112.77K   19 downloads

Full set of painted Outer Space Men minis!  (Strangely and sadly, they never made an Astro-Nautilus.)

Attached File  IMG_4308.JPG   108.36K   14 downloads

Arco snake cudgel!

(Dude remembered this after all these years!  :))

Attached File  IMG_4309.JPG   76.16K   12 downloads

Thank you SO much, Rubberhammer & ebay chums!

The red rubbery figure is Spyne. It's a X Men companion figure that came with Genesis. It's one of my favorite mini figures. I also have those Kinnikuman figures. I'm not sure from what exactly. But mine came in two capsules in a small box.

Yeah, dude probably informed me but I didn't care enough to retain the info.  Apparently the Kinnikuman guys were part of a video game promotion.  (?)

One of your favorites, eh?  If you'd like another, I could toss him in with your FOP....

I got some toys in the mail for the first time in a while!

Jagun Fighters. Little dice toys Bandai put out in 2003. I have around 75 now.

Also decided to check out Military Muscle Men for the first time. Not sure if I'm going to collect any more.  I love the dopey proportions, but I don't like the lazy articulation cuts. I'll probably keep them on my desk for a few weeks to see if I want more.

Yeah those were exclusives for the Kinnikuman Nisei GameCube game. Great little figures for fans of Ultimate Muscle.

Jagun Fighters are a low key favorite of mine. I have 32, no doubles. I get really excited on the rare occasion that I see a good mixed lot pop up.

I'm not a fan, these have already hit the trade table.

Well, except for this guy, the real champ....

I love Wally. I’m only disappointed that they never did the rabid Wally from the Chaos arc.

I wish I had a better version of him with proper proportions.  This one is a bit too SD/chibi for me....

That version is red underneath the paint.

Same. I have all the sculpts except power eye stones #4, 5 and 6. Power eye stones are the three packs that have a blind bag figure slot that is either painted to look like jade or ivory.

4, 5 and 6  seem to be super rare in both loose lots or MIB. They may have never even come out in the US for all I know.

Which is a shame because there's a super cool dogu-inspired sculpt I really want. You can see it below.

As far as variants, I like the silver ones the best.

I'm partial to the jade and ivory ones, the way they remind me of carved figures you see at museum shops, pow-wows, rock shops, even netsukes, always been very appealing to me.

Bro, did you pinpoint which of the three-packs where you lost some figures? Could be helpful to get more eyes on that, just in case.

Yeah, that’s the Nisei GameCube presale version. The one that came painted with UM should have had a mono version too.

Huge thanks, Kayfabe, for once again demonstrating that you are one classy mofo.  :hi:

Side note:  I've never been the world's biggest Kinnikuman fan, or really much of a fan at all for that matter, but I find myself consistently impressed with the vast array of available characters and sculpts.  Bloated Kinnikuman w/sword?  Kinnikuman lady in ball gown??  Tiny plucked chicken dude?!?  The more I see, the more I like.  I've even gone so far as to read a bit of the back story, how characters like 'Big Body', 'Zebra', and 'Soldier' are trying to usurp Kinnikuman's position/namesake.  See, as kids, we always just assumed that all of the dudes with that circular mouth were variants of Kinnikuman himself, kind of like how Spidey has several different suits that he'll don for a specific mission/threat.

The M.U.S.C.L.E. line hit -- and hit hard -- in the Summer of '85 just before I turned 11.  My friends and I gave the characters made-up names, and would typically play with them in sci-fi/fantasy scenarios, essentially ignoring the campy wrestling marketing on the packaging.   It's interesting to know their actual names and back stories after all these years.

If you’re serious, I have a set that I picked up out of morbid curiosity that will sit at the bottom of a box.

Thanks for looking out for me, but I was able to bargain them back with some Elmo and cartoons.
