Anybody collect these on here? With Pokemon GO going wild it's literally drawn me back on to these.
I did have a bunch at one point a comic shop in my home town had a wall full in about 1999 and there were around £7 each. Then they went on sale for like £3 even for a double pack, I did actually see one sealed pack in a toy shop bargain bin in Tokyo 2014 but just left it.

I might be interested. I have a Snorlax on the way and I'm thinking of getting a few more. Though money is tight right now. I'll keep you in mind if I decide to collect these.

I've been eyeing this for a few days, even if there are doubles I'd be fun to trade with people here and see who gets what.

I don't think any of the bootlegs are of good enough quality to put money down on a lot like that. It's not like the lunchtime-special tier toys you often see from China of late.

I see those bootlegs all over Ebay. They're not close to the Tomy 1998/9 figures in quality and visuals. There is a collector case of the Tomy figures. But it's very expensive and two of the figures are discolored. There was one on Ebay but it was well over $400.

Official Pokemon minis have been hit or miss depending on the series/line, these look more like vending machine type quality. I'm fine with it personally since they're not nearly as big as most the carded figures. Far more silly things than serious. They do look close to some of the minis from Toys R Us though.

There was a line of micro keshi, translucent, the were really nice. I can't remember what that line was called... BaltanII probably does, though.

I misread your first post. I thought you had access to them via the comic shop you mentioned. My bad.

I'm with you on only wanting the Tomy ones. I checked out the keshi ones. They're better than the bootlegs but aren't easy on the eyes.(looking at the yellow translucent figures) The Tomy figures are made of PVC and they have simple yet great detail.

Man I wish haha I haven't lived there for years anyway.

Yea me and my little bro had a pretty big haul of those Japanese Tomy ones at one point, you could get the single packs double packs and the 3 evolution packs. You can buy them from Pokemon vault but they ain't cheap.

Wow! Just collecting all of the Pikachu variants would be an awesome feat. I'd love to get my hands on those Gengar variants. The red/pink translucent looks awesome.

I recently bought some of the ebay minis (24 for $3 from China). They're very low quality and some of the paint will rub right off. The gloss black paint was even sticky due to a low quality paint mix. No doubt full of lead. lol The castings are of reasonable enough quality but the paint apps are often really off-color and horribly applied.

Snorlax came in yesterday. It arrived still in package like the Squirtle in the first post. Those figures aren't stamped with C.G.T.S.J. It says  China Auldey Tomy. Still the same quality of the C.G.T.S.J figures though.

I think the ones with that stamp are the uk/us release? Came in very boring red packaging.

Yea I just got on card Mew, Mewtwo and Farfetched only becuase his leek was in a separate bubble :D.

Getting some more soon Snorlax next.
