I have 66 flesh figures with various painted marks on them, mostly black marker pen and a few with bright pink on them! They have accumulated from lots I bought on eBay before I started collecting seriously.

I've tried all kinds of cleaning methods but nothing gets rid of the marks, plus some have marks due to contaminates during injection which really is impossible to remove.

So I had the idea of painting them all black instead of throwing them away - or even chrome plating them. How would I go about doing this? What sort of paint do I need to paint them black and how would I chrome plate them?

For black spray on a light layer of a black primer, games workshop makes a good one, than a layer of sealer like testors dullcote after that's dry.

Awesome, thanks! What about chrome plating, that'll be a bit tricky uh?

EDIT

Just had a look at Games Workshop, would their Purity Seal do the job after using their chaos black?

I'd second that comment about Games Workshop Chas Black undercoat - it's all I ever use

Purity seal works good too, I use testors dullcote because its more readily available to me, but purity seal works fine too I've used it a few times too. Also I usually run some warm water in the bottom side of the spray can for a few mins to loosen the paint particles so I can get a thinner more even coat. Not sure about chroming though.

What might look good though is after you prime and seal, take a metallic paint like silver or gold (I use games workshop acrylics) and just dry brush the figures to bring out the details with the metallic paints.

From what little I know about chroming (at one point I kinda wanted to experiment with it myself lol), you need electro-plating equipment in order to do it, but the equipment can be pretty expensive (if anyone knows otherwise, please correct me).
