I've been collecting MUSCLE and various random LRG so far and never really set my sights on any other series. So, I just ordered some GPK Series 2 Minikins boxes. 1 Hobby and 1 Retail. I'm a child of the 80s and GPK has been around my entire life. So, I fugred , why not.

Can't wait to start cracking packs!

Anything outstandingly rare I should keep an eye out for?

I had read about the hobby box peach ones. Are the black ones the retail version of the peach color?

I am pretty sure you are guaranteed at least one peach per hobby box.  I only bought one box and got one figure, but I think others have pulled more than one.

I think black figures can be found in retail or hobby boxes, but they are really rare.  I found two (one S1 and one S2), both from retail.

A quick glance at eBay shows peach figures listed at $20 and black figures listed at $100+.

Best of luck with your boxes!  Hope you pull a black Adam Boom -- which would be the most valuable S2 for sure!

On second thought I hope you pull whatever figure you like the most in black and peach and yellow!

I had read about the hobby box peach ones. Are the black ones the retail version of the peach color?

No -- both series had black figures, only Series 2 had Hobby boxes and peach figures, and peach were given specific odds (if I remember correctly, 1/12 packs in a Hobby box). Topps never said a word about the black figures. They just randomly appeared in packs for both Series 1 and 2, without any specific odds of finding them ever revealed. They did seem to be a bit easier to find in Series 2 than in Series 1.

As steverotters said, I believe with the Hobby boxes you'd get at least one peach (though I remember some people pulling 3-4 out of a single box). But Hobby boxes were never easy to find, so for a while peach figures were going for nearly what black figures did, if not more. I think recently the prices have come down a lot.

I'll certainly document all of the packs. I'm quite interested to see what comes of it.

A black Grim Jim would be pretty metal. e+

Okay, kiddos, here are the breakdown results for the 24 pack retail box. The hobby box hasn't arrived in the mail yet but I will post those results when it arrives.

The ratios weren't what I had expected.

Pack breaks are as follows:

  1. Painted Graffiti Petey / Blue Hot Scott
  2. Painted Adam Boom / Blue Semi Colin
  3. Painted Dale Snail / Blue Hairy Harriet
  4. Painted Bouncing Bert / Red Waxy Wendy
  5. Painted Mushy Marsha / Red Toady Teddy
  6. Painted Dale Snail / Blue Michael Mutant
  7. Painted Graffiti Petey / Blue Hot Scott
  8. Painted Slobby Robbie / Red Double Heather
  9. Painted Weird Wendy / Green Yeti Eddie
  10. Painted Yeti Eddie / Green Mad Mike
  11. Painted Oozy Suzy / Blue Jolly Roger
  12. Painted Bouncing Bert / Blue Waxy Wendy (plastic material short, legs are nubs)
  13. Painted Adam Boom / Green Semi Colin
  14. Painted Hot Scott / Red Grim Jim
  15. Painted Mad Mike / Red Weird Wendy
  16. Painted Outer Space Chase / Blue Oozy Suzy
  17. Painted Fishy Phyllis / Yellow Outer Space Chase
  18. Painted Hairy Harriet / Green Many Lenny
  19. Painted Many Lenny / Blue Oozy Suzy
  20. Painted Adam Boom / Green Semi Colin
  21. Painted Waxy Wendy / Green Semi Colin
  22. Painted Fishy Phyllis / Green Outer Space Chase
  23. Painted Graffiti Petey / Blue Hot Scott
  24. Painted Grim Jim / Blue Fishy Phyllis

So, that's 1 painted figure per pack (Percentages are rounded off to nearest whole number) :

Painted: 24 Figures : 50%

Blue : 11 figures :  23%

Green : 7 Figures : 15%

Red : 5 Figures : 10%

Yellow : 1 Figure : 2%

Overall, this was a lot of fun and I can't wait to break into my hobby box and report back. Expected delivery is on the 8th. B)

Anyone know any more info on the distribution of the monocolors?  I guess I have not looked around much so maybe the information is already readily available.

I know the first box I opened had the following ratio, pretty similar to Epic's results:

10 blue

6 red

5 green

3 yellow

If you're shooting to complete all S2 colorways let me know, Epicus. I have a lot of doubles in red, blue and green -- even have a few extra yellows left. I have a few specific figure/color combos I'd like to complete too if you've got'em. I do have some S1 doubles too but not nearly as many as S2.

I completed my s1 and s2 all colors except yellow and peach. My kids have claimed all of my s1 doubles but I have an almost full box of extras for s2.

I'm trying to build my yellows and/or peach for either set.
