I have a question regarding the japanese single boxed figures:

are they sealed or something? Can I open a box to display the
figure in an acrylic case and later store them back in their original
box or do I damage the box with this?

The boxed figures were sealed with simple scotch tape. In most cases the tape has completely dried out and has stopped being sticky. Therefore most boxes aren't really sealed they are just closed, so yes you most probably can open them and display them and then put the right back in the box

I'm with dabbuu. They were just taped so you wouldn't destroy anything in opening it up.
