This is sort of a general discussion of Dota 2, sequel to the Warcraft III mod Defense of the Ancients/DotA Allstars (which in turn, derived from the Starcraft mod Aeon of Strife which was considered the first in the genre) which is a team-based action RTS where you control one powerful individual (or the one and their duplicates and/or familiars) in a battle to destroy the opposing structures. Whether it's about those here who played it or heard of it, or how you think it is superior to League of Legends, anything's up for grabs in this pub.
I started playing this game on February 6, 2013, when the game was still in beta and I'm still playing it often since then. I've tried a lot of the other games of the genre such as League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, and SMITE among others... but I believe Dota 2 is the premiere game of its genre, especially since it has one of the best micro-transaction models out there since everything you can pay cash for is purely cosmetic or used in some manner to achieve more cosmetics.
