I'd be pumped, if they actually put money into decent playsets/wrestling rings.

ya now we can finally get a ring with open action... I can easily see Mattel recognizing it's M.U.S.C.L.E. brand and using its WWE license to run wild with. Imagine a new playset figure combo coming out like every other month ;)

Now, legit question, since SC came up:
IF they redid MUSCLE, and they DID elect to do some of the two part figures, how butt hurt would you guys be, if they glued the pieces together during assembly?

Both Moose and Mattel seem to be staffed by evil geniuses, so I can see where the comparison could be made.

hmmmm well my first gut instinct would be to be okay with it. it will take away some of the "uniqueness" of the figure, but the overall figure would be cooler as once piece and harder to loose. i believe the two part figures would not exist at all if casting was easier or at least more forgiving

nice write-up ;)

Thanks.
I try to not regurgitate too much info/content from other blogs that I follow. Chad's write up was really great, and I really liked the points that were raised in it... Mine was more of a "Here's how we can fool Mattel into making our beloved toys again".

That being said, If you could only pick ten of the MUSCLE figures to be included in the hypothetical revival line, which would you pick?

Okay guys I just got my email written that I'm sending to Enrique at Mattel. These emails are great supplements to the facebook likes and well they work! I sent one to Ira Friedman (along with a few others to) and now the projected GPK erasers release morphed into what looks to be a cheap toys release. So communication via email seems to do the trick. They get busy and need us to remind them and be that extra 1%. It took me a week to get this email written. Well 10 minutes to write it but a week to have the time to write it. I encourage everyone that wants to see M.U.S.C.L.E. back on the shelves to write a little paragraph and email it to Mattel with attention to Enrique in marketing. I'm so stoked they have some made already, so now is the time to let them know we want to see M.U.S.C.L.E. back!

If Mattel brings back M.U.S.C,L.E. proper, maybe we can convince them to make some of the Non-M.U.S.C.L.E. sculpt kinkeshi figures, like the swastika-less Brocken Jr, and the Ultra-Spiky Warsman.

Mixing WWE, WWF Legends and pushing some to the extreme as monster / beast / superheroes or else (like the Bull-headed The Rock) could sure tap both into nostalgia fans (both of wrestling, M.U.S.C.L.E. or outlandish 1980's antics) and get some kids hooked since those are cheap, fun and zany figures.

After all the original M.U.S.C.L.E. had a complex backstories based on the Japanese Kinnikuman Manga but were imported as almost generic weirdo wrestler. Only the name of the good guys and bad guys boss were named, and the whole "story" was set on 1 to 4 panels comics on the backer cards. Still, they were cheap, fun and were a good success for such a little cash-in line and are still fondly liked today from collector and 1980's kids who had them.
Mattel having the WWE license and using it to bring back outrageous brawler mini figure in bucket of cheapo bubblegum-colored rubber figs is just perfect.

Bringing back Muscleman and Buffaloman design-wise would surely mean getting back to Bandai for the likeness, both otherwise the whole packaging, team name and (little) backstory all come from Mattel so they must have kept it.
I could see them start of simply as M.U.S.C.L.E. using WWE guy, and either re-licence Kinnikuman design to build on the line or simply re-design Muscleman and Buffaloman to have "in-house" characters to solidify this brand and expand it further on their own.

Damn, what you wrote right there is perfect. Would it be too much to ask you to mail that to Mattel Attn: Enrique in Marketing in a physical letter? You basically hit all the main points. It gets right to the heart of it. Bottom line its a great idea for Mattel and Enrique needs to hear that ;) great stuff :give_rose:

It sure would be nice to have a reason to bring back the poster offer on the back of the 28-packs...
