thanks guys.   I was looking over my old posts and I guess I promised to post some FOA internal design documents like a year ago and never did.

Let me make up for that now.

This a file with the early production drawings for the jangutz kahn poster, the sciroid battleship etc.    Some are the original concept drawings and some are reference material from YES (basically old images to help the artist creating the new images for Jangutz and the battleship and such).    Its pretty easy to see what's pencil vs what's printed, below.   Obviously, most of this stuff is one of a kind and pre-dates the actual production of the figures.

Not as much as you'd think. To us, it's really neat, to him, it was just a job from 17 years ago, you know? Still, the documents themselves are a good record. Ill get better pics up at some point.

Yeah, me too. Sucks that the guy couldn't feed off of your enthusiasm at all.

Still, this is my all-time favorite toy-line, and I am enjoying every little bit that I can get.

I hear you.

May I pick your brain? I understand there was a mail away Jangutz Khan wanted poster. Do those come up from time to time? I tried a search but didn't see any discussion it. I guess you only need six points for the poster and sixteen for the figure so it seems like there should be some out there but then again posters get tacked up and beat up and thrown away, so maybe not. Just would like to learn more about it if you don't mind sharing :)

Huh.    I'm surprised there aren't a few out there but I guess these things got thrown away then.   Maybe kids just preferred to have actual figures and not a poster of a figure, too.

I do have one in storage (I kind of forgot about it to be honest as it was all just part of this file and I didn't know the poster was rare at the time) l but don't know much about it other than it was a mail away.    Any other place to look for info do you think?

In the meantime, let me share a pic then if it isn't a well known image.

I've been having the damnedest time trying to piece together my collection, above the standard common figures... Let alone literature, etc

Sorry. I don't mean to sound like I am showing off. I really just stumbled across this stuff as a happy accident as opposed to as a result of some kind of brilliance or anything ;)

I like toys a lot but for the most part I just appreciate them rather than collect them. I mainly collect art and so that's how I ran across this stuff that's more unique

Yeah, this is excellent material.

I think, given the rarity of this stuff, you ought to strongly consider making high-res scans for backup purposes in case something happens to the originals. It would be a terrible shame if any of it was lost.

Well I am happy you guys like it. Maybe I can make a repro happen at some point. It won't be fast but maybe. I'm not usually a fan of repro'ing things but maybe with a reproduction script.
