I have to say, overall I am overjoyed with the toyfair 2003 Ultimate Muscle/Kinnikuman stuff!

12" figures! Mantaro, Kevin Mask, Terry Kenyon and JAEGER!

New 6" figures! Wally Tusket! Scarface! Checkmate in centaur mode! and BONECOLD!

Sadly there is a downside, they look like they have action features that will eliminate some articulation.

None of them have the excellent chest articulation of the first wave, but more problematic (if you prefer articulation to action features) is they look like they will have very limited hip movement. They look like they have v-crotch hips.

Judging by Bandai USA's past Power Ranger stuff, if they use a leg squeeze combined with the v-crotch to activate, that means that one hip will not even be able to rotate! still the arms look decent.

BoneCold looks like he will have a button activated swivel waist, but may or may not have elbow joints in both arms (hard to see the right elbow in the pic.)

Still, awesome character choice. Wall is big enough that the lack of full articulation is not so bothersome, same is true of centaur form Checkmate.

I would have prefered regular articulated Scarface and Bone Cold, but hey, any new Kinnikuman is good Kinnikuman!

PS. Pics are at figures.com under the toyfair 2003 bandai ultimate muscle section.

I'm loving the 40 packs!

The 6.5 Checkmate looks REALLY lame!

The new colors on the 1.5's are sweet, and the poster? YES!

I'm curious to know when they'll come out with 3-packs for a dollar where you can collect all the figures in all the different colors!

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Well the reason why the accessories are glued to their hands is because they dont want them to fall out. I know from experense. My dad worked for kenner for afew years in febuary at the toy fair (yup i got toys months in advance and also some of the displayed ones and also afew prototypes  ) But they also glue the figures to stands so it can stand in case of anyone touching it. Some of them they have for you to play arround with but noone does that except for things like spinart and remote control cars cuz you have to see it working. I could possible have gone this year cuz my dad still knows peopel in the bussiness who he is friends with but that was along time ago and i am at college which is 8 hours away.... I will ask if he has time to pick up any giveaways cuz do they rock or what! Hopefully hell walk by bandai to pick up silver muscle but i doubt he can make it there except to take my little brother, but still i doubt it. I dont like the clear muscles, they should just make them flesh.

Oh as for the 6.5 inch figures i remember hearing that they are going to have action features and you cant do that if you have all these articulated parts in the midwaist. Judging by the figures i can throw guesses what each one does
NOTE THIS IS MY GUESS ITS NOT OFFICIAL!!!!
Wally has a clubbing action with teh fish,
checkmate is just the horse leg add-on,
green-guy up and down action with sword thing as it looks as if there is a tab there,
Big Kev. i presume both arms wail up and down,
as for the other 2 i got no clue. REMEBER ITS JUST A WILD GUESS!!!!
What i am currious about is taht the ring has hooks on each of the turnbuckels, "wuts up wit dat?"

*drools* 40 pack *drools*

Anyone else catch the commercial for the toys this morning? It was on toward the end of Foodons. There was a really clear shot of a cool painted Meat. The commercial said that "there are over 100 mini figures to collect". There are only 60 currently available, if they're advertising more, I bet the new series hit the shelves soon.

Here are a couple of my first impressions after seeing the pics.

The 40 pack is going to rock! Great packaging and it has some new colors and clear figures. Thumbs up to that.

Yay!! A poster of all the micro wrestlers!! Great idea. I love it.

The wrestling ring for the micro wrestlers is so f'n cool!! That is a must have item. I also dig the fact that they made spectator stands to set around the ring.

The good thing about the second wave of 6.5" figures is that they have MUCH better paint jobs than the first set. The downside is that I much prefer excellent articulation instead of action features. Eskara, Wally and Kid Muscle all look good. I don't know why they are giving us another Kevin Mask figure instead of a Dik Dik figure! The Gren Turban guys doesn't do much for me. And I love Checkmate, but that Knight figure is kinda lame. They should have done a Checkmate figure in Rook or King mode. It would have looked cooler.

I love the 12" figures! They have crackin' good articulation for such big figures. Plus, size does matter. A 12" Kevin Mask figure will be sweet.

Overall, I am very happy with the new Kinnikuman toys that Bandai has planned.

Damn, I missed the commercial, again. Of course, I avoid Fighting Foodons like the plague. I watched TMNT after UM, but didn't see any ads.

Well the facty taht i said it was series 10 shoulda got that thought in your head. You know they are throwing them in waves of 4 for the minis. I think the boxed set will be for those who missed series 1-4 when 9-12 comes out. Not only taht but in the box do you see a checkmate in horse form painted? Its black on the second middle row getting puinched by the kid muscle on the cardboard box. And dont you talk smack about Kevin Mask, he reeks of awesomeness!
