This is where we discuss and debate what Class A's are worth?

I believe this is the only Class A that I've found "in the wild". Curious how much it typically goes for.

Neat! Thanks for the info :)
I have no intention of ever giving him up, and even if I did, I'm not really the type to try to make money off of my toys, but it's exciting nonetheless to know that I have something uncommon :)

I'd say closer to the $15-20 mark but it's still somewhat uncommon

This is kinda a question about Class A figs... but not quite.  This thread sounded like a good place to go though.  I hear everyone talk about Class A figs, and common figs (which I assume are the Class C).  No one really mentions the Class B stuff... is that because the Class B stuff should just be lumped in with the commons group?

Thanks in advance!

There are very few "Class B" figs that should demand any more than most "Class C" figs.

I don't think there's a definitive answer, really, is there? We've seen Class A figures go for more than $100, and others fail to sell for a few dollars.

If this how you feel, then we may as well shut down this entire 'What's it Worth?' section. I'm not after a difinitve answer, just a guide, which is what I thought the purpose of the section was.

hey burty- i think the class a in that sculpt should only be salmon.  i have picked up 7 purple 156 last year alone.  dont see the salmon as much-

id say somewhere around $10-20 for the salmon- just depends.

all the purple 156 i picked up were in lots- ending up making the figures well under a dollar each.

i think that the class a figures are worth as much as common ones are.  problem is that when a collector needs just one more to complete a line of colors, the price goes high.  not because its class a or b or c- but because its the only one they need for example.  buying in lot sized amounts is a hassle if you dont need all of them in the lot-but preferable if you can take the time to resell everything you dont need.

every time i give my opinion of how much a single class a figure is worth- its from a single figure buyer perspective only, not reflective of the cost when aquired in a lot.

It's only how I feel about Muscle Class A figures, there is nothing else out there which fluctuates so much in value.

If you only want a guide price, then you've already had your answer: $10-15.

In regards to class a figures... has anyone seen pics of figure trees?  Like images of everything that happens to be on that particular group or tree of a class A fig?

I seem to remember at some point someone posting or I found a pic of some grape colored figs (light purple?) that were on a tree of plastic before they had been removed for individual packaging.  But I can't find it anywhere (but to be honest I just can't remember where I saw it either...).

I've found many pics of individual figs, but rarely anything that just focuses on the trees... wouldn't it make sense that with the exception of just simple sculpt popularity, that we can figure a closer idea of "value" of some of the class A's if we know what other figs were on the same tree or group?

Am I just babbling... or am I making sense...

(or both?)

Probably true. One or two high rollers get out of the hobby and the prices drop. The time to sell is when the next "ironoak" starts collecting.

That grape colored "Tree" is the only known one found in Muscle Rubber, i have seen quite a few in the Original japanese keshi rubber. Since the US Muscles were cast using the same Japanese keshi molds, there is no sculpt mold variation, only color variation of which molds were produced in which colors. Japanese Kinkeshi were released in waves, part-1 - part-30, unlike muscles that all came out at the same time, so we know which figures come from what japanese gang molds. So when one figure is listed as a Class A, we know which other figures from that mold should be listed as Class- A as well. But sometimes certain figures in the "tree" pop up more often and thats when we have to rethink that "tree" and move it down a notch to Class-B or maybe even C.

Eric,

and so  when certain figs are popping up in the tree more often than others (even tho we know it's from the same tree...) I assume that is due to collectors prefering or holding onto certain sculpts that are their favorites?  So the ones that they are hoarding evolve into Class A status while the others from the tree get down graded?

Got a Magenta 125 in a lot of 40 figures for 20 bucks. Any info on what it has brought in, in the past? I never liked the color figures, but recently find myself liking them more and more.
