So I was in Toys R Us and they have these new mini figures called Crashlings made by Wicked Cool Toys. Some videos of these guys below. I bought two of them but yet to open them as I want to see if they are squishy like Trash Pack, in which case I will return them as I hate squishy figures. Anyone have any yet?

They were posted in the ToyFair thread, but I didn't expect they'd be out already. What's the packaging like?

If you decide to open them, let us know what they feel like. I'm curious. I might pick up a few packs.

The ones I bought were the single packs, it just looks like a round meteor ball with clear wrapping that has the logo etc on it.

They looks so much like Trash Pack rip offs that I expect them to be squishy toys but my hope is they aren't.

So I ended up opening them up and they are hard rubber! The variants are shiny colors: gold is special edition, silver is ultra rare, red/blue/green are rare, and regular painted are common. They do have sculpts that come in different colors, FrankenStar comes in shiny green, regular green, and purple. I got the Monster Meteor and so I only have the checklist for them but they have some cool ones, DracuLaunch, FreakyFlyer, MummyRoid, BigFootDipper.

They look pretty cool! Might have to try some, though I'm rarely in TrU any more... too many awesome online toy companies to support first!

Thanks for reporting back. I doubt I'll be heavy into collecting these, but I'm sure I'll be picking up a couple whenever I see them.

Same. They are interesting enough to sample, but I can't see falling in love with the line.

I picked some up about a month ago in Australia. They are pretty cool, but yea doubt I'll get more than a couple of packs. I got a monster and alien pack. Ps. Not as good as trash pack :p

If I see some, I'll have to pick them up out of curiosity. But since I'm already collecting three lines, I won't get heavily into them unless they're super-badass.

Current collecting goal: obtain all 148 Monster In My Pocket Series 1 figures in regular colors (71.62% there)

So many toys, so little money!

I picked up a couple of packs of these... And honestly, I dig them. They are a firmer plastic, and the sets are broken up by type... I picked up a Monsters 4-pack, and an Aliens 4-pack. I like having a little more control than we're used to getting from Trash Pack, and I dig the more durable material.

I'll probably pick up a pack whenever I hit Toysaurus up, and nothing else catches my eye.

Here's my favorites!

Love that metallic mono blue one.

I picked up a few packs of these as well. Pretty cool, although some sculpts are much more interesting than others, as is usually the case with these types of lines. Here's my lot:

So, since they stole the Snailiens 'shell launcher' concept, do they at least work this time around? I don't think I ever got those rubber shells to shoot the companion figures more than a foot or two, much less the advertised 30ft. ;)

I picked up a 10 pack of Monsters. Even got a gold "Special edition"

Attached File  DSCN1146.JPG   83.66K   52 downloads

sadly on closer inspection I see that the gold is just painted.

Attached File  DSCN1148.JPG   56.39K   71 downloads

And that isn't even done well.  There's a pretty big spot missed on his face.

Well at least the metallic colors seem to be molded in that color.  I think I'll pick some more up if they go on sale. Trash pack always seem to get BOGO deals, maybe I'll try again then.

In case you guys are interested, I did a Little Weirdos post on Crashlings a couple days ago:

http://www.littlewei...-like-mini.html

I took some close-up pics of the ones I have (I got a pack of each kind, except for the Insects), as well as the single-pack display and playset I saw at Toys R Us.

well I finally saw these at Target last night and picked up a few singles. The figures themselves are hard plastic and the sculpts I don't care for at all, but the little meteor balls they came in are pretty neat, which explains Plastic's request for them in 'Need Toys'.

But overall, yeah these figures suck. They didn't even keep with the theme, and many of he figures are generic sculpt concepts. I got a witch, a pirate, and one that actually looks like an alien but of course, looks like it was designed for a toddler.

Does anyone have a sense of how this line is performing in terms of sales and appealing to kids? Since I first saw them, I've been curious about whether kids would latch onto them. I continue to see them in stores, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean yet that it's a successful line.

I agree with you guys—some of the sculpts are cool, but most are pretty dull.

"Guys, we're excited about this new line, we're calling it "Crashlings"! They're little alien figures that come in a mini meteorite. Sculptors, hit me with some ideas!"

"Uh, so how about like, pirates and Halloween monsters? That's what you mean by aliens right?"

"Exactly!"

I did end up buying 3 of these guys.. so far all of mine have been pretty dull sculpts. The meteor balls are sweet though - perfect size for the smallest Mordles.

I've decided to go for a set of these since they have hit first level clearance at TRU.

Is anyone actively trading?

Each figure comes in THREE color varieties plus the metallic version.  The company packaged checklist does not list the 3rd color.  So I ignored the numbering and made a checklist showing a place to tick off each variant.  50 sculpts X 4 colors = 200 figs.

Super rare flocked editions also exit of at least one sculpt per 5 factions.

Anyway, here is the checklist that I made:

sorry, not trading crashlings but this did remind me of something I saw posted some time back that's worth sharing. I don't think it's common knowledge yet.
