Does anyone know what type of paint(s) were commonly used by (Chinese) factories for the paint apps on plastic and rubber mini-figure toys from the 80's and 90's? For example, Battle Beasts, MIMP, Fistful of Aliens, Fistful of Power, Trashbag Bunch, etc.

This information is surprisingly hard to find. Granted, I've only done Google searches. The best I can tell so far is that they used a type of high-quality acrylic paint (someone has told me they may have used something call Cell Vinyl).

Can anyone drop some knowledge up in here?

Yeah, I have been trying to find this crap out for the longest time too. Maybe it's just a normal acrylic, and they just use some melt or bake method to dry it.

Damn, I was kinda counting on you to know, urs, haha! However, I think you may be right about the baking/heated application though.
