I do think Jesse brought up a good question... If a toy is factory produced, is it still a "Custom"? Where does that line get drawn. I'm legitimately curious about that, and hope somebody poses it in the sandbox forum sometime soon.

I don't see it as a custom figure since it's factory. A custom would be handmade/ made to order figure.

Agreed.

Someone could take these Strange Monsters and customize them with paint and accessories but as they are... they're production toys. FREAKIN' AWESOME production toys. :)

I eagerly await seeing painted ones. I might paint one myself. I haven't painted figures in years (I hate painting).

Actually, we're in a position where we had X amount to sell, and it really had nothing to do with quantity control. That's all I can say about it, other than "I wish folks would give him a break". It's a f**king toy, and there will be more.

Shoot I thought it was cool that one of them sold out pretty fast. I was just goofing, didn't realize I was piling on some existing issue. Apologies, and I think it's great that 3 great guys got an opportunity like this.

So basically the self-entitled angry mob of toy nerds are flipping out over a toy selling out or what?

I pretty much said all that I can/want to about it. Zectron is a good dude that has literally gone out of his way to bring more of his toys to people more affordably (I.E. his work with Nilla), so I wish he'd get more of the benefit of the doubt.

And credit.... I constantly am finding his stuff online "customized" in some way or another, with everyone and their ugly brother getting credited EXCEPT Zectron. Not even a foot note. Has really put a bad taste in my mouth for a few people.

I think Zectron is a great dude.

I don't see how anyone could slight him simply because his stuff sold out.

Unless they blame him for making his stuff too awesome!

We should get him to join LRG, I'm sure it will benefit his figures.

Haha you guys are nuts.

Yeah some people get really angry when they miss out on a toy. I understand the frustration but we all did our best to make these cheap and easy to get. Would love to have more for everyone but it's not that simple. It's like any factory toy. It can take many months after picking a color and ordering before there is a slot open to produce them. I've had friends who order there stuff from japan or china when the mold is ready and it can still take 6 months to a year of waiting for vinyl to be pulled. Luckily Unbox is awesome and we might be able to sneak in some colors faster.

Yeah mine sold quick but i didn't have as much stock as Iron did. I would have loved to have more but the amounts weren't up to me or any of us actually.

The really cool thing is that each toy has it's own mold so in the future we might get different colors that aren't shared between the different monsters.

People who don't give artists credit for their work effing suck. That has absolutely nothing to do with this project at all though cause this has been awesome and everyone involved from the other two artists to Unbox and Karis have been the definition of professional and classy.

We'd like for all three of them to come back, in new/rad colors.

Instead of getting furious over a figure's popularity, support the line so we can bring you lots more!

Boo to rationality! Let me wallow in my consumer-induced rage!

Soooooooo Unbox? The factory? Probably not a question you're able to answer, but... hurm.

Tugging this thread back on topic (wohohoho), Tug or no Tug, when I do have money I do nonetheless plan to grab Necrolossus, and hopefully that's soon. It's still the brilliant little figure with the clever suitmation homage I wanted nearly a year ago.

That is a long answer. Basically the first color was gonna be sold by Unbox from hong kong but after talking with them we decided to get a bunch shipped here to the states just to save people high shipping costs. Cheapest shipping from them would probably push 12 to 15 bucks for a single figure. From Jkaris it was way less then half of that and got even better when people bought multiple figures. So it was a move just to save people money even if it would cost us quite a bit more. Plus we didn't want them to only be sold as 4 figures sets. Would much rather let people grab one or two or three as they saw fit. So to be cost effective for shipping from Unbox to us we couldn't get huge amounts. They said how about X number and we said sure. The stock we did get literally cost hundreds to ship even in just one box. Which shows you again that everyone involved including Unbox was just trying to get cool toys out to you guys cheap no matter how much it erased our margins. At the end of the day it was all about fun and letting people who have been buying or just admiring all our indie stuff grab a factory toy for around the same price.
