Here it is. I suspect the seller's trying to pull a fast one with the red Griffin, but everything else looks good, and the lot's cheap enough.

Doesn't seem to be a legit MEG figure. It doesn't have the ridge around the base.

The red Kraken looks on the small side too..

I didn't figure all was kosher with that figure. I guess there's some possibility that it's an Italian or a Mexican figure. We'll see what the seller's reply is.

Looks like a Sonrics Griffin to me. Even the color looks different.

I thought the red looked a little funny, too. Still no reply from the seller to confirm or deny anything, either.

So since a red griffin wasn't produced in the normal series, what is the assumption about this one then? I don't know much with regards to Sonrics, Argentine figures, mexican figures, fast food premiums, etc. other than they exist.

Just curious why there is speculation that seller is trying to pull a fast one as I'd assumed the non-standard series figures would be more valuable and didn't see a claim that it was an undiscovered red standard release of that figure.

The Red griffin is a common Sonrics. Probably worth no more than $5. My bet is that the seller just doesn't have any idea what he has. So I agree with you.

Oh and if anyone wins this lot, I will happily buy the Behemoth from you...

Cool, thanks for the explanation.

So Sonrics are the Mexican premium versions of the figures, right?

Yeah they were packaged with Sonrics candy. Alfonso has some of the boxes they came in, I'd really like to get my hands on one of those. They also released comics that came with them too, I am lucky enough to have a few.

I've only ever owned a couple of Sonrics as I've never been that bothered with them. I did once have a lovely, dark purple Great Beast that I sold to Aikola that was almost Matchbox quality though.

I've got about 200 Sonrics now. I love them like I do all my MIMP. I just bought my first Greek MIMP, hoping to add more of those when the prices reach a level of some sanity.

I got a reply from the seller. He (she?) stated that all the figures have the typical "MEG" and "China" marks, plus the number. I think I just might ask to see a close-up of the red Griffin.

Interesting. I will be curious to see what happens with this one. Maybe I will dig out my Sonrics Griffins tomorrow night and take some pictures too.

It would certainly throw the whole pattern out, its got to be a foreign figure,

I've asked the seller to provide a picture of the Griffin. We'll see...

Edit: seller says the Griffin and Werewolf are Sonrics figures.
