This weekend I pulled out my old NES system and started playing some of my old games. And while I really enjoyed playing some of them I laughed at how far games have come. But there is something great about those simple old games, just ask Warsman.
Anyway, I enjoyed playing Ice Hockey more then the most recent EA Sports version I played (I think it was N64?). So what were a few of your favorites as a kid, or even today? And the flipside to that question, which were the games that just sucke beyond belief?

rc proam, paperboy, all the marios, the two zelda games, punchout, 1942, tiger heli, operation wolf, contra, mc kids (i couldnt believe i actually liked it), adventure island, bart vs. the world, all the double dragons, lifeforce, the megamans, rygar, tmnt, smash tv, balloon fight
those are all the good ones i can think of
there were a ton of crappy ones, abadox was impossibly hard, so was spyhunter, even though they were both good, i never really liked the sports games, except for icehockey that was cool
On a related note, does anyone know of any good site to get roms and recent emulators? If anyone wants i can send them the roms and stuff i already have or we could trade or something

I loved the puzzle games, like Dr. Mario and Tetris. I played those games so much that whenever I closed my eyes, I would see those pieces falling...
Also, the Megaman series rocked! I have very fond memories of Megaman 1 and 2.
As for games that sucked... hm... I don't really remember too many. I seem to remember that Fist of the North Star sucked. Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (or something like that) sucked, too, I think...

I had tons of favorites as a child.
Namely the first Zelda, all the Megaman games, of course Mario =P I was also lucky to get those bootleg 110 games in 1 cart deals. In fact not till I got the internet and downloaded the MUSCLE rom did I know that Broken Man Jr. was replaced by Geronimo in the US version, cause all the bootleg multi carts always sported the japanese version of MUSCLE (Kinnikuman). Ah.... the good ol' days. Thank god for emulators.

The best NES game, in my opinion, is Blaster Master.

So many good games! I forgot about a lot of those. I loved Elevator Action, in fact the kid I played that game with was also the kid I always traded MUSCLEs with.
Contra was great too, and I loved Tetris. But it made me crazy when I saw pices dropping and I wasn't playing the game. Actually I thought that I had given myself brain damage the first time that happened.

Favs: Super Mario Bros. (Pts. I, II, II), The Legend of Zelda, Ninja Gaiden I and II (You...Ashtar...that sword!), Guardian Legend, Skate or Die, Tetris, Strider, Megaman II and III..
Least: Ninja Gaiden III (it STUNK like rotten eggs), Zelda II, some Captain America game...I can't think of anything else.

well,my faivorite games arnt many,but they do rule none the less.
G.I. Joe-I mean,come on! it has it all! it hs action,adventure all some of the most kick arse visuals i've ever seen on NES
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!!-during the prime of Iorn Mike's Reign in boxing,a game was made. It has the most obscure fighters in the world and it has an engin that could not be beat. Easly one the best.
Pro Wrestling-before WWE Smackdown and KInnikiman on GC came along,there was Pro Wrestling,same as Punch-Out,it had the weridest wrestlers inb the world and some of the most brutal fighting in the world.
The Goonies 2-yes,I must be the only fan of the game,but it spawned the same engin found in Castlevania 2 and in all the later castlevania's (such as the ones in GBA)
Mega Man 6-anyone who has play all of them would agriee,6 was the best of them all,it sets the standard of the later games and had the kick arse Rush Armor system that I really miss (however,Rush Jet Armor was you many times over in MM7 and 8)

Double Dragon 2-now this was the game,I had a hell of a time trying to beat this game,but it was worith it at the end...after beating it on easy.

I still have not played every NES game yet..
I downloaded the Nester emulator and every NES game made off of KaZaA.
I have ben playing Adventures of Kirby, Rygar, Legend of Zelda, River City Ransom, Pro Wrestling, and a few other of my favorites...
Does anybody know of any good emulators that work for the SNES?
If so where can I download it from as well as the games....
I downloaded the Nester emulator and every NES game made off of KaZaA.
I have ben playing Adventures of Kirby, Rygar, Legend of Zelda, River City Ransom, Pro Wrestling, and a few other of my favorites...

hey MIWP, the emulator i use for snes is zsnes, i havnt used any others really, but thats a good one. I have a bunch of snes roms, do you want to trade roms that we dont have?

Favorite nes games, hmmmm, bionic commando(i still play it to death) rygar, final fantasy, super mario bros2, silent service, squoon(anybody know this game?) contra, double dragon.
The ones i didnt like, well theres alot, i thought wolverine was bad, ultima sucked, tom and jerry(ick). i could go on but i wont.

Best NES game?! too many great games exist, I have 572 roms...and play many of them, but I have no favorites.
I guess the ones I play most are River City Ransom, Basewars, TMNT 1, Punch Out, Super Mario Bros. (1-3), Duck Hunt, all the Mega Man games, RC Pro AM, the Ninja Gaidens, Rygar,Super Spike V'Ball, Zombie nation...jeeze...this could go on forever.
I'm just gettin into Mighty Final Figth and Monster in my pocket.
Oh, and in my opinion, FCE Ultra is the best NES emulator out there.
