Yep there certainly seems to be a pattern forming, but I think if we can see two more neon packs that prove it then it has to be a solid pattern. It would be even better of the next one we can open is a NG Great Beast pack to see if your prediction is correct.

Yeah, and the good thing about doing this is we can finally get a more definitive list of which lower point value monsters are uncommon. I had a hard time finding figures such as NP Chimera, NR Ghoul and NR Invisible Man, but there has never seemed to be a clear consensus about whether figures like that are actually uncommon, and if so, why.

Here are the ones left out from the three assortments we know so far:

NP Great Beast pack:

- NG Red Cap

- NY Vampire

NP Behemoth pack:

- NP Chimera

- NR Invisible Man

NR Werewolf pack:

- NR Goblin

- NY Ogre

Hopefully others will be able to help with lists for more packs soon!

It's late here and I'm about to go to bed, but even as I lie here tired there are 3 figures in particular from your list above that stand out to me - NG Red Cap, NY Vampire and NY Ogre, all of which were considered rare neons at various times. Less so now for NG Red Cap, but still somewhat for NY Vampire and NY Ogre. Very interesting indeed!

Yep, and I actually had a harder time finding NP Chimera and NR Invisible Man than I did some of the higher point rare neons. And I still haven't found a NR Goblin for my collection. So I wouldn't consider any of those 6 easy to find, really.

Here are my guesses for which two we might find missing in all of the other packs we don't know the breakdowns for yet. This is purely speculation, but I'm interested to find out if I'm right about them!

NG Great Beast set

- NG Gremlin

- NR Ghoul

NG Hydra set

- NG Zombie

- NR Mad Scientist

NP Hydra set

- NG Chimera

- NR Skeleton

NG Werewolf set

- NP Ogre

- Not quite sure what the second might be (maybe NY Gremlin?)

NR Behemoth set

- NP Ghost

- Not sure what the second might be

NG Griffin set

- NP Roc

- NY Vampiress

NP Griffin set

- NY Roc

- Not sure what second might be

NP T-Rex set

- NP Red Cap

- NR Medusa

NG T-Rex set

- NY Medusa

- NP Cerberus

So thanks once again to Paul, we have our 4th neon 12-pack that we can evaluate - this time the NP Hydra:

5F70DBD7-3B48-4A42-AD49-ECF9D3A21C97_zps

First thing to note, the NY figures are once again separate, which follows te same pattern as my NP Behemoth pack, but different to the NR Werewolf pack. It's also interesting how unevenly balanced the colours are, with the NR bag containing 5 figures - the most seen in a 12-pack so far.

Next, the figure breakdown comparison. Frank predicted that NG Chimera and NR Skeleton might be the missing figures, but this isn't the case. Once again we do have 10/12 correct matches, with 2 replacements - so let's see what was what:

NY Cyclops
NY Karnak
NR Coatlicue
NG Cerberus
NP Zombie (replaced by NP Harpy)
NG Chimera
NR Ghost
NY Mad Scientist
NR Charon
NR Skeleton
NP Hunchback (replaced by NR Tengu)

This pack doesn't help the theory that the missing figures are often rare or uncommon ones. Yes NP Zombie may show up a little less often than the other Zombies colours, but still a pretty common figure.

That's 4 packs done and hopefully another one soon

I mildly suspect that the NP Hydra may have been opened by someone at one point. The reason being is that you can see that the tape is damaged and partially folded over. I received the pack like that; so there may be some shenanigans with the assortment. You might want to keep that in mind as you work on your list. The seller didn't seem to know anything about MIMP since he called it NP Gargoyle instead of Hydra in the listing. I doubt that he opened it; but someone may have at some point. The box is in decent looking, "unopened" condition other than the tape issue.

Anything is possible, but I have no reason to believe that these aren't the original figures. Even though the box was opened, the individual bags may still be sealed with tape. Also, if the guy knew nothing about MIMP then it's even more unlikely that he swapped things around or messed about with them.

Yeah, I agree. I just find it weird that the assortment is so different from what we know since it had 5 NR figures. It is probably legit; but it struck me funny. The guy also sold a NG werewolf pack that was bid through the roof, and several standard color packs all at the same time. Kind of makes you wonder how he got a hold of them all. Not that it is really pertinent to this topic.

Yep I was trying to negotiate with that seller via Facebook, but we had very different ideas on pack pricing. If we knew who purchased the NG Werewolf pack then we could that pack analysed too.

Good to see another pack posted! Interesting assortment. I am kind of surprised about the NR Skeleton especially. If it was in all the NP Hydra packs you'd think we'd see them more often.

Yeah, it is unusual. My neon collection in sitting at about 50% and this is the first skeleton of any neon that I have ever gotten or seen in recent ebay offerings for that matter.

NR Skeleton is a pain to get, so I am also surprised it made it into this pack.

I hope this helps, but here is my Neon Great beast set from my childhood. Ignore the purple Spring Heeled Jack in the back, I got him later. I am missing 3 figures. I'm pretty sure I had an invisible man, and possibly a Medusa and skeleton. My memory, however, has certainly faded in the 20+ years I've had these.

There's been a NG Hydra box posted on Facebook. Everything matches the olive green Hydra assortment except NY Triton and NY Haniver are added in place of NR Mad Scientist and a NG figure. I can't tell which NG figure is hidden under Hunchback, but it should be either NG Charon or NG Zombie.

Earlier in this thread, I predicted that NR Mad Scientist and NG Zombie would be missing in this assortment, so we know at least the NR Mad Scientist was correct.

I've just received a french scelled neon 12 packs. Never knew it was existing before, I used to think 12 packs were only available in classic colors in France. I've opened it and the content is exactly the same as Paul's one (NP Hydra), with the 3 NY figures out of a bag.
