No, I didn't pay for it just said fair enough and left it at that but it does strike me as a tad coincidental that they didnt sell for £90+ like most of the others thanks to the inflated prices. Might completely be true that it was misplaced and account hacked but who knows...

So what do you all consider to be the current money value of a hard plastic BEB figure? Are certain colors more valuable? Certain sculpts?

On the one hand, we have people buying them for pennies on eBay and boot sales from sellers who don't know what they have, and on the other hand, we have people spending approximately $100 for single figures. (And in the past, some collectors, including myself, have paid $100+ for figures.) Finally, I just offered two hard BEB in near mint condition here on the board, and they went for approximately $55 ea.

So, is that the most accurate measure of BEB value so far: $55? Or was that because my figures were Green, arguably the most common color. Or was it the sculpts?

I would say $55 is accurate before "12345"/nodecorumintheforum" started collecting BEB. I watched them sell consistently for a while right around $55. Then this guy comes along and gets mad at Strontium Dog and starts buying every single BEB as to piss SD off. He will not lose at any cost. And apparently has the cash flow to make it happen. So prices we are seeing these sold for on ebay on extremely inflated due to our BEB hoarder. There are many people that want them and throw money at them it is just tyhe BEB hoarder will not lose to prove his point to SD. He has over 80 BEB last I had heard.

If he wasnt around they would be selling for $55 still.

Haha, I suppose I missed the period when BEB were selling for $55 on eBay. (However, I have certainly been out of the game for several years.)

I first started collecting BEB in about 2007, if not earlier. A member named Matthewfitz and myself often bought auctions together to reduce costs/competition. I don't know who all else was collecting at the time - not sure if 12345 was - but there were like 2-3 other people, ZebsterZombie being one and possible Dark Clown (but by then, he only need like 2 more figures for his collection).

I know if was 2007, because Fitz and I collected them for a year or more before we posted the BEB entry at Toypedia in February 2008. So, way back 2007-2008, I know BEBs were going on eBay for about $75-$100 a pop.

As I've been out of the game so to speak, I'll take your word for it that BEBs had been going for $55 for a time after 2008.

BEB certainly seem to be appearing more often then they did in 2007-2008. Perhaps BEB are a little like MUSCLE's Satan Cross. I sure hope so. Even so, I'd like to hear the thoughts of some other BEB collectors. :)

It is how I got my first two. I would say I bought them late 2009 or early 2010. Bought one right at $50. And the other just over $60. And then I bought yours for $55 and $60. But I havent been able to win one on ebay in a couple years.

I won one the other day in a smallish lot of mimps, there were 26 figures in it I think including a blue charon which is an uncommon. I paid £41 not including p&p which is £8 more than what $55 dollars equates to at the moment. But if you minus a few pounds for the charon its nearer that.

The same has happened with the skeleton dinosaurs and monster ninja figures, 12345 collects them too including ones he's already got and pays collossal amounts for them too. I was bidding on a couple of lots with skeleton dinos in lately, one had 6 figures and went for £80+ and one had 4 I think and it went for £70. The estimated value of these figures people suggested at $10-20 I think, now thats more in pounds than dollars.

Just a little heads up, I will be listing all the bad eggz bunch figures I have found so far except vertebregg.
I seem to of missed out on the £100 + heydays :biggrin2:

Gutted to sell hardboiler, but I cannot justify keeping them, when my family comes first. Listing tomorrow if I get time. :biggrin2:

I take it you got stiffed on the Poacher like dielaughing did? I haven't added those auctions to this thread for that very reason.

I think 12345 won the other poacher, he was winning both when I bid on them anyway, unless someone outbid him?

Yeah, he won the green one, but that purple one you won was a relist, it originally "sold" for £57 on 23rd April.

So what's the deal here? Some of you are saying BEB are worth $55 (and I just sold two for that value), but I have seen and continue to see them go for $100+.

http://cgi.ebay.com/...em=220781536940

Are they worth $50 or $100?

It depends soley is that guy isnt bidding on them, he values them a lot higher than most people it seems and therefore is prepared to spend more. There are some who pay £60 for them too but then again it also depends if theres two people who have a bidding war. That often pushes up items end costs more than normally and can throw a few odd amounts into the light

If the winners ebay name is m**u then its 12345, pretty much every bad eggz bunch auction has his name on the bidding history with him at the top lol

So what did Strontium do to piss Nodecorum off so much then? I've always wanted to collect BEB but there's no way i can match this guys desire for them so i never bother bidding & hidden ones in auctions never stay hidden for long.

I saw two go today in two auctions one at £3.99 and one at £6.99 both with some random MIMP's.

They were a purple Eggface and a green Peel Poacher.

hmm...where are the links

- I bought three BEB for £30 off a Buy it Now.
- He went through completed auctions and saw what I'd bought, then snidely contacted the seller and offered them £200.
- Seller duly broke the legal contract she had with me and refunded my money.
- I told the forum what a greedy shitbag and leech he was.

I don't honestly think that the high prices are anything to do with that episode though :unknw:

Well I saw it at about 35 seconds left and by the time I tried to place a bid it had ended..the same guy sold the Green Peel Poacher in a similar lot for £6.99.
