Happy New Year to all you fellow MIMPers! :D Hope everybody had a great Christmas.

Been scouring eBay over last couple of weeks for various MIMP items and discovered this UK listing yesterday:https://www.ebay.co....cvip=true&rt=nc

Just wanted to check what final price it went for today and I was like "WOW! What the hell?" :o

I know it's rare to see battle cards in their original packaging along with dice and 2 figures but thought this seemed a bit much. I'm keen to know if the bidder was somebody on this forum or not. Another thing I want to know is how many differing variations of the S2 set there are out there and if any of you might have pics or info on this.

When I was a young'un on holiday in Scarborough (or somewhere similar) I recall getting a pack of S2 battle cards but mine had Warlock and Ancient Gorgon. Can't remember their colours though. This leads me to believe there's probably many more versions, rather like the S6 Dino fact card sets. I'm aware there's no record of any first series sets other than The Beast and Witch in Red or Green.

Any light light shed on this subject always welcome! ;)

I was bidding on it up to £74 but didn't want to go any higher. It's the first boxed S2 card set I've seen on Ebay.

What makes it really rare is that it has the series 2 figures in the package. It's actually the first one that I have seen with series 2 figures enclosed. I intended on bidding on it but to pay that premium for $2 worth of figures and $30 worth of cards just because it's sealed seemed a little insane to me. Grats to whoever got it. Its a beautiful piece; but for me I would rather spend that kind of money on a Greek or Cromy figure for my collection.

I saw this lot and thought, "Man that might be worth bidding on." Then I checked later...

Yeah well I myself would've placed a bid if it had different S2 figures with it. Never really liked the Nuckelavee sculpt. Frequently gave me nightmares as a kid, and still does to this day!

Plus the fact, I've already spent enough of my hard earned dosh on MIMPs as it is. Paid fifty USD for a Spaghettio's Orange Ganesha which just arrived today. Also got a few other second series figs to go with him so he would'nt be lonely! lol :p

Anyway back on topic. I'm really surprised no one from the MIMP community has known about the S2 battle card packs. As said before, they definitely existed at some point. But how long after the S1 packs (a year, maybe two) I've no idea. Just wish I could recall which colour combination my figures were. I think it was either Green Warlock & Orange Gorgon or Pink Warlock & Blue Gorgon. Was that long ago so I'm purely speculating here. Could have even been in the same shop that had the MIMP bubble bath on sale as it was around that same timeline.

Perhaps there's a collector out there who's got a whole treasure trove of these mint & sealed rarities locked away in an attic somewhere and they don't even know it!
