Nothing Pursuit of Cobra has been released yet to my knowledge. So far, the line's still in the cards, but maybe we won't see them until summer. Perhaps the Joe line's future isn't as rosy as when the line was conceived, but nothing's canceled yet.

So has anyone picked up any of the new Joe figs? I tried keeping up with the news for the past number of months, but things were in a black whole for a while with the Pursuit series, then things got more confusing when SDCC came around.

So I guess what happened is Hasbro dropped the movie theme completely, re-sculpted all the heads (dropping actor likeness'), and then canceled, or seemingly redid some of the figures completely.

Here is the super page of the new Pursuit of Cobra series. http://generalsjoes....obra-superpage/

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with this line myself. Personally I like that they dropped the movie theme, and yet the movie seemed to offer a new breed of blood into the Joe line. And since they are pretty much going back to the classic style card mock up, sort of, it becomes, I think more appealing to all joe collectors.

So instead of jumping all in, I picked up 3 figures I knew I really liked. Desert Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, and Jungle Duke.
First the Storm Shadow is just sick! Comes with 6 swords, 4 shuriken, 2 claws, and real chain weapon. Sick figure.
Cobra has a new head, but other than that is a straight repaint of the movie Commander, but the awesome red metallic makes him perfect for leading out an army of Crimson Neo-Vipers. Love his neato staff as well. I'll likely buy another if I find it, cause he looks sick MOC, and rarely do I find a figure I'm willing to buy a second of to keep MOC.
Duke is alright, Usually I really like commando type figures, but he isn't that great, but he isn't bad, definitely better than most Duke figures though.

Based on these 3, I know I'll be buying more from the line. Sadly I can't find either City Firefly or any Alley Vipers yet. Not sure if I want to go full swing with the line though. I'm not too partial to any of the other figures I've seen. Snake eyes, Beachhead, and Snowjob just don't have any UMP!! to me. The Alley Viper is just another straight repaint, so not sure about him either.

Looking through the planned roster for this year and next, so far I'm gonna miss not getting Desert Ripcord, Jungle Storm Shadow, and City Scarlett. But it seems the Ripcord has been revamped into Skydive for wave 4 next year. I liked the Desert colors better. Don't know what the heck happed with the other 2. Alot of other figures were dropped as well, but they all sucked in my opinion anyway.

I will be buying the complete second wave, and all the Jungle Vipers I can find! And probably the entire 4th wave next year as well. Wave 3 just seemed bland to me, So I'll probably opt to skip that. An only 1 TRU exclusive interests me, but that's cause he looks like Billy from Predator. :D

So far I've picked up a handful of POC figures...I'm pretty impressed. I've been hitting my local TRU, Target and Walmart pretty steadily since the figures were released; picked up a Duke and Beachhead a few weeks back and finally got my hands on some Alley Vipers and Cobra Commander yesterday.

I'm really into the Duke. This is, I think, also the first Duke figure I've ever really liked. He's fairly simple, which I think works in his favor....for combat in the jungle he's got to be efficient, not carry to much and be prepared. I love the sheathed machete, the storage spot for the flashlight, and I'm really impressed with the elastic straps on the back of his pack, which are perfect for securing his rifle. I just wish they stuck a holster for his handgun somewhere. That's really my only complaint with the figure.

Beachhead was an impulse buy. The figure itself is pretty okay, but his tactical vest is a little too bulky; his arms wind up sticking out too far. I'm also really disappointed with his wrists/hands--I can't get him to hold any of his guns in a way that looks natural. They're cocked down too far, so in order to hold his submachine guns he has to bend his elbow and hold the gun close to his chest. This is a shame, because he comes with a small arsenal of cool-looking weapons. Well, except for the second knife to match the empty sheath on his back...

The Alley Vipers rule. I know they're pretty much repaints, but the paint job looks great and gives them a more modern feel than the old day-glow orange & blue (which is still dear to my heart.) It's the accessories that make these guys really worth it, though; there are knives to fit into the arm and chest sheaths, an updated machine gun, a shield, a baton (which clips to the inside of the shield!), a backpack with removable grapple gun, the classic helmet with flip-down blast shield, plus a gas mask and a viper/resolute-style helmet with removable goggles! I've got two and I'm considering a third if I come across one on the shelves.

I'm not a big fan of the ROC Cobra Commander; I picked a few up when Target had them on clearance for custom fodder. I pretty much grabbed the POC version because he's the alleged chase of the first wave and somebody might need one down the line. After getting him home I'm considering keeping him. This one looks a little cooler, with the new paint job and new, chromed head. His staff is a bit ridiculous but I'm into it for that reason. I really dig him because of the card--how cool is a straight-up Cobra card? I'm definitely not a MOC guy, but if I do end up hanging on to him he's staying on card.

The rest of the first wave looks really cool--the sculpts, paint jobs and accessories are all top-notch. There aren't any figures I'd say I hate, I'm just not interested in getting any more besides Spirit (a.k.a. Billy!).

As for stuff in the pipeline, I'm really into the Jungle Viper, the Cobra Shock Troops and the classic-looking commando Snake Eyes figure. I'm hoping that last one comes with both head sculpts, but I've heard rumors there will be two variants with different heads and weapons.

I think Hasbro did a really great job with this line. I hope it does well enough for all the planned waves to hit stores.

I agree, I'm glad Hasbro took the extra time to change things up for this line.

As for Duke he is a great Duke, but I actually like the Desert Duke from ROC better, not as a Duke figure, but as a great soldier figure he is just fun.

The Storm Shadow has some problems with his right hand. It's open too wide to properly use his claw weapon in that hand, but it seems to hold all the others okay. And the neck cloth thing is kind of loose, It may have been better to sculpt it to the chest, but then he wouldn't be as customizable.

I think besides the Jungle Viper, the other most anticipated figure for me is the Wave 4 Destro. He just looks cool in that black/red camo and armor, and the mini gun and case of money don't hurt.

I just hope the line does well enough to warrant further waves. I'd like to see that City Strike Scarlett get put back in the roster, and a new Baroness would be nice. Or a Lady Jay.

To my surprise I found the second wave while hunting for Marvel figs yesterday. :D

Picked up one of each and 2 Jungle Vipers.

The Snake Eyes from this set is a weird mix of cool and cheesey. He has some lamo tornado kick gimmick, so he lacks torso articulation, but the cool sculpting on the chest armor makes him appealing. Wish they would have given his sickle weapon a real chain like Storm Shadow though. He has Some nice Ninja weapons to say the least, but nowhere to place his unused ones. He should have came with some clips on his back for the rest.

Recondo, Dusty, and Zartan are very well done. Great paint apps and sculpting.
Dusty lacks in the accessory department, he gets a roll of barbwire...which I guess is only useful when making a diorama. A swappable head, and 2 guns. I'm not really diggin the swappable heads, though I prefer it to variants or chase figures. I like figures to either come with Tons of accessories or just enough. I don't like having to put away accessories if I can adequately display them with my figures, but the extra heads a few of the figures come with make that kind of difficult. Fortunately FireFly and Zartan have a place to hide them.

Recondo, comes with some nifty stuff for play options. Gets a couple bear traps, which have always been cool accessories since the TMNT days. And a goofy satellite backpack. The pack has a button activated string which connects to the traps, so a Cobra can step in the trap, then you can hit the button and zip him to Recondo, but the string is kind of short, so it defeats the purpose. Love his rifles, and especially the native face mask he comes with. :D Also removable hat, always a bonus.

Zartan is pretty cool as well, he has his trusty hawk who not only gets a staff/perch, but he even has his own little tiny blinder helmet. Extra head, which is a necessity for our staple shape shifter, a little pack to hide the head in, and two sword/machete which slide into notches in his front belt, and an extra vest.

Arctic Destro is just a Mr. Freeze for the Joe line. Comes with your typical water squirting backpack/gun combo. Some Ice attachments for his victims, and a few other accessories. Not much going on here, some nice sculpting and paint apps. I like the white on his head, makes it look like his chrome dome is nice and frosty.

Lastly theres the Jungle Viper. He is just cool. Not as great as I had imagined as his camo pack likes to slip off. But he is definitely a fun figure. I just want to hide him in the bushes.

This line is proving to be one of my favorites of recent. I'm even liking them more than most of my Marvel Universe figures.

Has anyone found Wave 4 of the POC line yet? I've only been able to find Sky Dive.

I can probably get Destro from HTS right now if I wanted, but if anyone comes across either a Tracker or Lowlight let me know! I'll reimburse you cost and shipping or trade you something.

As for the 5th and 6th wave. I can order a case of each from HasbroToyShop right now. Hasbro has been getting smart and slowing down on overpacked figs, and appears to be doing 2 of each figure per case assortment now. So if anyone is interested in going halvsies on a case of each wave I'd be happy to pick em up. It will cost $197.84 with shipping and tax for both cases, 12 figs a case, which is $7.91 each figure. So you would pay half 190.37 + shipping of the doubles to your addy. Unless I can find a coupon. If anyone is interested let me know, or if it turns out to be cheaper the other way around we can do that too.

***Found a 10% off coupon that would knock the total down to 172.61.

Thanks. :) These are the 2 Assortments

Hey URS, I found these last week. There were 3 Lowlights, 2 Shadow Trackers, & 2 Skydives. The three low lights are reserved for my three friends that have moved from ohio, but now live in areas with ROSS stores where they have been finding me stuff left and right. One of these firends is also getting Shadow Tracker and SkyDive, leaving me with a SkyDive on this round. If I find another grouping of this wave what do you need? I'll give Toys R Us a call today, and possibly trek through the snow if they have them.

Well, just need 3 from that set, the Destro, Lowlight, and Tracker.
Also still trying to find some ROC figs. Never got my hands on a Kamakura.

I have a few Ross stores I frequent anything you were looking for there?

I am looking to build an army of the crimson/black flight pods from ROSS. What ROC figures are you looking for? At Marc's in ohio some ROC are $2.99 apiece. Do they have to be US cards? b/c some european cards are showing up lately. I called Toys R Us, and they only have Destro from the POC new wave, but not the other ones.

Card types aren't a big deal to me at all.
Other than Kamakura, I pretty much passed on most of the vehicles and Exclusives at the time. Loving my closeout stores, as they are slowy catching me up on the vehicles. I'd be stoked if a Pit Headquarters popped up for $25 bucks at one of em.

Mostly interested in finding the TRU singles and Officer 3 packs and the Trooper 5 packs. As long as all these are clearance priced I'd happily reimburse you or anyone if you found any.

I didn't see any flight pods last I was in there, but who knows! They are sneaky about when and what they get in. In fact... I can't rightly recall ever seeing any flight pods in my area. If I find any, I'll scoop em up for you, as they probably won't cost much.

They did have some stuff at ROSS/TJMAX/Marshalls I passed on, as I was planning on going back to get them later. I saw a few Sand Serpents, Night Ravens for about $15-16 each. POC Hiss Tanks(Black) and Furys for about $12 each. A few Attack on the pit sets for the same, and a handful of the deluxe Target exclusives, and Mars trooper packs for about $7 a pop.

If anyone is interested in a Black POC Hiss Tank, I could probably find one and would trade it for a MIB Brown Hiss. Though I only recall seeing one the other day. If I understand correctly the Black ones are in boxes date code stamped 02391. Anything else should be the brown version I guess.

Looks like the following is true about the wave with Lowlight, Shadow Tracker, Destro 2, & Skydive:

Entertainment Earth has the wave as "temporarliy out of stock" but orderable at $28.99 (I've only ordered with them with a S&H promo so I don't know how reasonable the rates are, but the packing job is good)

BigBadToyStore has the wave in stock at $29.99 ( I haven't ordered in a while, I don't know what S&H rates are like, but the packing job is good)

smalljoes.com has the set supposedly in stock at $27.99, even though they have artwork posted instead of the production pieces. (I have never dealt with them, but they've been around a while, so they should be reputable)

Hasbrotoyshop has Destro and Skydive in stock at $6.99 each, but Lowlight and Shadow Tracker are out of stock. Hasbro can be iffy about shipping standards, but if you aren't a carded collector, they may work out best, if you can catch the items when in stock.
