Good eye, bravestar. i hadn't noticed that before, the snake battle beast was always one of my favourite figures as well.

Those do look quite alike. The snake is one of my favorite Battle Beasts also.

Just off the top of my head, I can think of a few others that "mirror" Battlebeasts.
Rhino-Rhino
Tendril-Octopus BB
Spidok-Spider BB
etc. of course, the idea of anthroprokmorphic animal dudes killing each other on this scale is probably what adds the similarity, but those few do look a liiiittle familiar, if you know what I mean.
And you could also the question - are these Battlebeasts who got a new job, or are they in training to be Battlebeasts? (this'll start a weird debate).

eek looks a lot like the bat battle beast, in fact i think eek has an eyepatch too
