As i'm currently on different sculpts that takes a little time i needed a break.

I wanted to change my avatar to fit better LRG and this happened.

I'm waiting the silicone to cure to cast some resin in it and take a pretty picture!

Original art is from Naoto Hattori.

That's sculpted and not from a 3d printer?!
How can a circle be that circle?!?
Either way, sweet piece dude!

Thanks, in this picture the sculpt was still in progress, i have smoothed it a little after that.

I will post pics of the result tomorrow.

An no it's not 3d printed i formed a ball, baked it and drilled a hole to put a stick in it (bad idea since the ball cracked on a second baking) then used a drill to make the ball rotate. I sanded the ball while rotating it with the drill to smooth the surface and rectify bumps and irregularities.

I made the pupil with what i got around me, the metal tip of a pen. I used the broader part of the metal cone to engrave a perfect circle. Then found an other small one to do the other circle.

Delightful work so far. I've been idly interested in getting a pressure pot and vacuum chamber for this sort of thing myself.

Just wanted to chime in and say that Maxrez graciously included a green one of these castings in the Forever Yes contest I recently won, and it's a fantastic little figure. Great work!
