Deluxe General Grievous

Sculpt:
General Grievous' deluxe sculpt is easily his best. On the surface, it's very similar to the four-armed figure, but there are some key differences. His body is slightly wider and better-detailed, his arms are split and articulated differently, and his head is much better-sculpted. His ribs are better-deliniated, the arms somehow look nicer, and I really like the enhanced details on his face. He also seems capable of taking some slightly better poses, since his arms aren't frozen in one spot.
Paint Job:
General Grievous' deluxe paint job is easily the best of all the figures. Rather than just being bone-white, Grievous appears to have slogged through the mudd a little. He's got several dark washes all over his body, which could be dirt or could be ash - it's hard to tell. The differenyly-colored sections on his body are well-done, and I like how the green in his torso is PROPERLY executed for once. His face is also incredible, with the best eye paintjob on a figure this size. This version of Grievous stands out incredibly.
Articulation:
General grievous sports 15 points of articulation - he's got elbow and separate shoulder articulation for each of his arms, which is important. He's also got an Action Feature that's similar to but different from the normal four-armed one - you can lock his upper arms down, and then by pressing his head cause them to spring back up. it seems a little weak, but doesn't obstruct with the figure's movement. Overall, it's easier to pose him than it is to pose the other.
Accessories:
General Grievous comes with four unique one-piece green and blue lightsabers, a new sculpt cape, and a grappling hook launcher. the cape is narrower than the Preview figure's, and also holds on better. The gun fires its missile pretty hard, and although it's hard to get hinm to hold it, it's still kind of cool.
Pricing: $9.99 seems to be a little steep to pay for one figure, but you do get some pretty good value for it - even if there is a similar figure for a lot less.
GOtGM (1-10): 3. General grievous is a 3.
Overall (1-5): 4.9. This is easily the best General Grievous out there. You need to actually have one in your hands to see what I'm talking aboutl trust me. Also, the Rebelscum pictures actually show more "dirt" than is actually in the figure's paint job, strangely enough - it looks professionally-done, which is rare for mass market toys.

Don't worry, there aren't any spoilers here, especially since I used an old Death Star background.

Man, with these new figures out now, I'm getting really antsy wanting to see the movie and it's still over a month away.
Wonder why they released the figures so early this time? For the previous Episodes, hasn't it always been like just a couple of weeks before the release of the movie? I remember one release date of the figures being May 3 (for Episode I... I think it was).

Great stuff, Rid! The forced perspective on some of those pictures really made it look like a full-sized General Grievous was there, especially the pics of him entering the casino, going to the mall, and going home.http://ridureyu.trip...om/vegas01.html
This could be a children's book!
Part of that (and a reason why my pictures turned out so nice) is because this figure has surprisingly realistic paint apps. The other Grievous figures look like crap if you blow up images of them like this.

Mind you, my vacation connection is REALLY slow, so I might not be able to get them up for a little while.
Also, periodically check http://flickr.com/photos/ridureyu . I put up some normal photos that I take from time to time there. I'll probably switch to photobucket eventually, but for now that's just a nice way to show off whenever something goes right with my digital camera.

There - here are the rest of the images.
Of course, after this week, my figure was so beaten up that I had to pick up a new one! (riding around in a pocket = bad for action figures)
